Strange Question about The War Within Expansion

Hi guys,

I have a disability that makes it very difficult to play and use buttons at the same time. I am also quite old and not really a gamer so I basically use my mouse to navigate around and to point and click abilities. Because of this I literally had to stop playing the last expansion after I had purchased it.

Does anybody know of a way I could ‘try’ before I buy the new expansion? I still subscribe and play, because I am quite happy to potter about levelling characters, working towards achievements that I can obtain, heck I even like fishing. I find the whole game relaxing.

But I Really don’t want to pay for another expansion before I even know if I can use it. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Tbh the game is pretty much the same mechanics/class wise. If you couldn’t play Dragonflight you won’t be able to play this expansion either. Nothing major has changed in the gameplay.

What was the issue you had with Dragonflight? If it was Dragonriding that is still present, but the “old” style flying is unlocked once you have completed the main story of all zones and explored them.

From what I remember all the quests which involved skyriding/dragonriding also had alternatives provided for those who need it. Obviously traveling and exploring on the ground will be more difficult and might require flying though I am not 100% sure. Like in Dragonflight, it is possible for other players to carry you when skyriding as well.

Thankyou both so much. Yes it was Dragonriding mostly. I think I’ll stick to classic and fishing, thankyou.

Aye but irritatingly, certain activities and certain world quests still force you back into dragonriding. Which is really annoying.

One of the main dungeons of the expansion requires Dragonriding. So doesn’t look good for you I’m afraid.

You can do the dungeon with steady flying. I personally found steady easier for the first two bosses. For the third boss skyriding or getting carried as a passenger is much better as steady is just too slow. And yes, you can switch flying types during the dungeon.

I haven’t encountered any which require it as far I remember. There were couple WQs but both offered alternative, eg. one WQ in Ringing Deeps has you gather stuff from the air and it was possible to use either the skyriding like the bug WQs in Dragonflight or use a provided slower mount which automatically flew around and the player could press a button to collect stuff.

Similarly during the campaign the quests, from what I remember, provided ways for non-skyriding, too.
