I’ve been streaming WoW lately.
Yesterday I crashed and the game took me to the main screen where my email address is visible.
I noticed that there is no "Streaming Mode" function that obscures the email login data (since the password is already obscured by the asterisks).
It seems necessary to me for privacy reasons … Also considering the GDPR in force.
Many other software have this mode and I don’t think it’s very difficult to implement.
Let me know what you think.
Who cars? Nobody saw it anyway since you had nobody watching. If you have a two factor authenticator you should be good.
If you don’t want people to send you emails just make an email for your wow acc only. And it could have a long name of random characters so the viewer wouldn’t be able to see the whole email since the box for it is so small.
Even if -you- don’t care, it would still be a nice feature to have.

Put an overlay on that position
Just don’t tick the “Remember Account” option?
Why does the login screen still exist anyway? You login through the bnet client

What the hell are you talking about? GDPR has nothing to do with whether your email is saved on the WoW login or not…? Do you even know what GDPR is…?
GDPR regulations generally tend to only apply if there are 2 or more pieces of identifiable personal information revealed, and even then it generally only applies to the back end systems and stored data by the company. Companies need to ensure that if 2 or more pieces of customer identifiable information points are saved, the document/system must be encrypted or protected in a sufficient way.
Email address is just one piece of information. You’re unlikely to have you’re account hacked if you have multi-factor authentication, even email accounts offer this now.
You’re more likely going to get Spam emails from people watching your stream which is a risk you take when streaming.
In short, GDPR has nothing to do with your email in the login box, you choose to stream, Blizzard are not forcing you to stream, therefore it’s your risk that your email, battlenet or character name are revealed in a stream.
