Stuck at initializing for WoW

Finally I had the time to try out SoD with my friends but have ended up spending my evening and last three or so hours finding a solution to my problem. I am trying to update the WoW classic in my Battle Net program but to no luck. It just keeps on spinning and spinning.

I have been through all of the recommended things here: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/206714 to no luck.
I have watched countless YouTube videos on the matter trying everything from logging in to Safe Mode and downloading; try to switch from WoW beta and back; closing all other programs (Steam, Discord etc) and all to no luck. I have reinstalled the Battle Net client, removed WoW completely but nothing seems to help.

What is this and how can it be fixed???

edit

And what annoys me the most right now is that I have just seen that client being able to download WoW retail no problem. The classic is still spinning and spinning though, so yea great…

Are you using a macOS computer?

If so, try to manually grant Battle.net full disk access under Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access. Simply click the ‘+’ button, and manually select the Battle.net application. This helped me getting out of the app being stuck at an infinite initializing state.
