I was questing in Stonetalon Mountains near Malaka’jin where you need to let the Kobold’s loose at the Horde banner. Obviously Alliance weren’t happy so they chased me for a while, but I made it back to Malaka’jin where I thought I’d be out of combat, but no. Even though nothing was on my tail, I couldn’t get out of combat to logout.
I tried putting a Vulpera camp down so I was rested, but that didn’t help. I couldn’t use the flight master. Eventually I gave up and tried walking to a new area, so I made my way over to Krom’gar Fortress. Yeah, still in combat. Took the hot air balloon to the Sludgewerks. Still in combat. Pressed Alt+F4 and punched a wall.
Please fix. ty.
You annoyed the superior Alliance and thats your punishment. Pick the right faction next time.
In all seriousness this can be annoying. Especially in Classic where you have down time as casters and need to drink but can’t. That sounds maybe a bug, or perhaps a player was keeping you in combat.
As a rogue I love vanish.
They can’t resist a good Fox hunt!
I’m wondering if it was the Kobold keeping me in combat, but I’ve done that quest a few times without it bugging out like that
Hah, that was actually pretty good. I’m not even mad anymore.
I don’t remember it perfectly but i think this is one of those quests where your guards are fighting with alliance taking each other 1hp until you wipe them out, so as long as your “companions” stay in combat you will be in combat too, i can be wrong because i didn’t do that quest for some time now.
I would have tried, but there was like 12 Alliance guards and the Kobold’s weren’t even fighting them, so I would have tried to take on 12 enemies with a level 30 Mage xD
I’ve done this quest a few times. I usually dump the Kobold’s then just bolt back to Malaka’jin. For some reason I got stuck in combat this time.
Good old bug could occur also, just random event which is not likely to repeat in an universe
Its rare but it happens from time to time =P My guess its a small bug.
Once I had a small mob after me and that crab NEVER gave up =P
I happen to aggro a crab at Zoram Strand in Ashenvale, was lazy and just ran away, thinkin it would give up…but after a while I saw that the bugger still hunted me =P
I thought “Yeah ok, lets see how far you wanna go” - I ran, swam, jumped ALL the way to southern Tanaris!! The crab was STILL after me xD On the shores of World’s End Beach I killed it and thus came out of combat xD
The journey took roughly one hour =)
Did you fight and kill something else after it and it still persisted?
Yeah, I fought some spiders on the way to Krom’gar Fortress to see if that would somehow reset it.
That sucks, what about dying?
Actually that’s one thing I never thought of trying… I’ll give that a go next time, thanks!
