I am doing the quest in Exile whereby I have to wave to an Ogre. Unfortunately all I can type in is the newcomers chat. I can’t type in general at all. When I click on the General window I get the newcomer chat. I have looked at settings and I am really stuck and can’t move on.
All emotes are just a forward slash and one command. You can type the emote into newcomer chat. Emotes work in any chat.
/wave
And you are done. Just do not type anything else in there. If you write before the slash or after the wave command it wont work.
When I ‘slash” it is in the newcomers chat window. I can’t get into general
You don’t need to get into general to do an emote.
You just type the emote command.
My apologies. I types ‘waves’ and not ‘wave’. Feeling very noobish:)

I remember that there are/were people with macros explaining /wave in Newcomer Chat. It is the most common thing in that chat.
