So, I wanted to go to Darnassus, but when I go to darkshore I’m in this future version of it and talking to Zidormi just plays an animated cut scene without changing the time back to when Darnassus was still intact. Is there any way to get back to Darnassus?

You seem to be playing on a single, new, boosted 120. I wonder if this could be the problem, something like you never did the scenario to start BfA. But I really don’t know.
If Zidormi is not working for you, you might legitimately make a support ticket, but that might take some time to get answered these days.
My first guess at something you can try is to go through the opening BfA scenario, the Battle for Lordaeron
but I can’t be sure. I figure it must be some effect of a boosted character, though.
Thanks Grainne. Yes, it’s this new boosted level 120 character. I used my other (level 110) boost on a Horde character and did the Battle for Lordaeron on that. I can’t find a way to start it on this character.
I used the “open at ticket” thing in the game but it says there’s a 3 day 8 hour wait right now. I got an automated response saying go to Wowhead but can’t find anything on there.
*Edit- I do have the “Come Sail Away” achievement mentioned on that Battle of Lordaeron page comments.
All I can think of is:
There IS an NPC boosted characters can talk to to see the start of Legion quests, for Legion, Archivist Elysiana
but I can’t find an equivalent for BfA.
I just went there to check, and Zidormi is not offering me any cutscenes.
Maybe silly questions, but in a case like this, it’s good to be sure:
You ARE speaking to Zidormi? Indicated on the map by a speech bubble? Standing in a beam of light in Darkshore just outside Lor’danel on the road south.
She IS offering you a cutscene, and not an actual time-skip? Did you look at the cutscene? What does it show?
Her dialog to return you to the past is:
From these shores, you may gaze upon Teldrassil. Once a cradle of life, it is now a ruin of ash and fire.
Even the World Trees must bow to the circle of life. Everything born will die.
No one understands this better than the Bronze Dragonflight.

It’s definitely Zidormi, and she plays a cut scene with a night elf woman saving another woman and child, then she gets attacked by the lich king I think and becomes an undead.
I’ll just log in now and check stormwind docks for quests, but as it’s a 120 char I think it would have auto-completed the BfA intro.

That’s the one. I spoke to Zidormi again after watching it twice but just get the same thing.
The only quests I find at stormwind harbour are “Call of Duty” and one about helping zandalari trolls.
The rest of the dialogue is the same, but instead of that response the only option I see is “What happened here?”.
Call of Duty is for Cata content.
Helping Zandalari Trolls doesn’t sound right. Alliance BfA starts with a cutscene of them getting away.
P.S. I just visited Zidormi on my last 110, untouched since Legion, who never went through pre-patch, and indeed she gives two options

I think I’ll leave it for another day and maybe just play other characters until Blizzard answers my ticket as it definitely looks like something’s gone a bit wrong.
OK. Keep an eye on the thread though. Maybe someone else has had the same problem, and can help!

I found an old forum topic about the exact same issue happening for a boosted character for Arathi Highlands.
It seems like this will resolve itself after a while, since newly boosted characters are unable to enter some instanced content for 24 hours (or 72, various sources seem to disagree with each other here). You should try speaking with Zidormi again either today or tomorrow, seeing that you just boosted yesterday.

Yay! You were right. I think it’s just over 24 hours since I made the character and Zidormi gave the 2 options this time, and the big tree is back. Thanks so much to you both.
