Stuck on 1.5k rating, any tips?

So im playing RBGs as VDH which apart from not being a lot of fun, since im actually a Havoc main which sadly is a spec that wont get invited into PvP, is also frustrating me since im stuck at 1.5k.
I keep joining groups and do my tank stuff like holding a base or being the fc, but then its usually the enemies just being better and my team losing the other bases or not being able to kill the fc and so on.

Is there anything that could make this whole grind at least be somewhat fun while being forced to play tank and not really enjoying it anyways ?

Are you pugging or in a commmunity? . Pugging is much harder than playing with a team or at least a few core players with some decent pugs. If your pugging 1st change is to look for a team to play with. Too many pugs do their own thing and rbg needs the whole team to work together and comms is required. Pugging mainly leads to lost cr from my experience as after 1 loss, your teams constantly replacing players. Also there are 220 level players in low cr groups now which means even at low cr you get pitted against better teams full of meta players and some comps will stomp you, esp if the team is uncoordinated. I am trying for 1800 in rbg and its a slog and although i am not the best i know what i am doing but its about the team and working together. Sometimes you may do something bad which can cost the game but if you do, learn from it. Was on alt rbg yday with 26k hp and most teams had several 40k plus hp dps. No chance to succeed. Random bg is the same most of the time.

make some friends,add them,play with them,get better,search for improvements,keep playing,dont give up.

A tip is to always try to play with groups higher than your own cr, if you are 1500, try to get into groups that play at 1600, 1600-1700, and so on, tanks are something everyone wants, use that fact, cause even if you lose in these groups, you lose way less, or even nothing, compared to groups with your own mmr, and if you win, guess what, you gain a lot more !

this might help

Not so applicable to rbgs.

Should i then note my actual cr, when applying to said groups ?
or just not note cr at all ?
The leaders are usually always asking for vers and cr so im not sure.

Replied to you in the other topic you made, you are using the wrong legendary for starters so no decent team in their right mind would invite you. This means you are only getting invited to bad groups and are hardstuck

Do note it, but most leaders are desperate enough to take a tank aslong as they are around ~100 rating around them give or take.

Only bad leaders would invite any tank without checking legendary first, I would guess that this guy applies for decent groups and when they see the wrong legendary being used they decline and he’s only getting into bad groups with it. Darkness legendary is mandatory/.

Yeah i know bout the Legendary, but i just recently started really playing RBGs and after having crafted my ST legendary i do not yet have enough soul ash to craft it, at least not on any higher ilvl than 190.

You dont need it higher, base version is enough.

probably so, I dont know anything about DHs, only guardian druids.

I wanted to suggest RBGs since RBGs is typically where unskilled players get their rating at.

But than i saw you were talking about RBgs allready ^^.

My suggestion would be…get ok in arena first.

Most people who have 1800 in rbg are stuck at 1200 rating in 2’s or 3’s

But…you gotta remember, there are people who do not like arenas, and getting 2500 rbg or even more requires a lot of skill.

Doesn’t really change anything. Finding a group takes 1-2 hours, even with duelist+ XP. Then you realize the leader doesn’t know what he’s doing or doesn’t lead at all - 1-2 hours wasted.

I don’t know how people manage to climb with pug groups. I’ve seen one good lead in 3 weeks of queuing on my warrior.

i dont know but i notice in some rated groups the ppl who join
dont join to win but to lose leech honor and get a free GV item
as for the OP question
i can suggest to get in groups with same xp/cr/ as you?

if you ever want to always get higher rate? you have to keep 63% winning, Yes that’s the perfect value, keep that chance and your dreams will come true, more winning rate = faster in getting higher, less winning rate = very slow in rising.

-that’s because Winning Streak will always makes you meet enemy with much higher MMR than you, even if their actual rate isn’t that high, U will still get your own rate based on their mmr.

if you can’t get +63% win chance? then you always does more mistakes than the enemy, learning how to play/move/react can be gained with practice but you need a partner to work together, once you’re confident and you never panic? you should be able to start a character and reach 2200rate in first night of play, note that wow currently have toooooo many clueless players that fails and can be tricked easily under 2000 so you should be able to easily beat them and climb your way.
