Stuck on Applying Updates 0%

I just launched battle.net and the blue play button says “Updating” below it says " Applying updates" and its at 0% been like that for a long time, Things I have tried.

-Reboot PC
-reinstall Battle.net
-closing tasks in Task Manager related to Battle.net
-Deleting the -Blizzard Entertainment- folder in ProgramData

Still it just endlessly gets stuck on applying updates.

Yes, got same thing going for about 4-5hours now.
Tryed to reboot PC, delete catch folder, shut down bnet update agent process but nope it is dead.
Its just stuck in one place and i think i have to call stepbro to help bcz its not working no matter what.

Few more hours passed, nothing changed but i lockated the point of pain - its the battle.net update agent process, which stucks around 233-235mb memory range.
If you try to pause is anyway and renew its going to stuck in endless loop of saying “waiting for another update” then you force close the process then it starts again and stucks at “applying updates”.
Probably not gonna be able to play game for next few days when the new “we located problem sorry for inconvinience” arriwes.

Hello to both of you Kitoro and Sool! Sorry to hear about the application giving you some grief.

May I trouble you to try a reinstallation of the application following these steps?

You have done some of these steps already but the aim here is to do a very thorough clean-up and reinstall the application on a new admin account in order to exclude potential permissions problems

Should hopefully not take you more than a few minutes, but you can come back to us if there are any more troubles

I have the same issue and it has been going on for the past few hours. I have tried everything suggested and still not able to do anything. I have tried to raise a ticket also but am unable to do this also. Any chance of some help with this as I was able to play yesterday with no issues?

Also getting exactly the same issue here. Didn’t happen until very recently. Watching thread for answers.

is there any info if the fix for ah or guild bank is coming back any time soon?

Erm there are like 4 threads related specifically to the AH and Guildbank, and you choose to post on this, totally unrelated thread.

Why?

cus i see blizzard person and thay kinda dont want to respond so i am shooting my shot i dont think is a huge prob if i ask a person somthing ya its in the wrong place but thay kinda dont want to see it in the place for it so you can take a chill pill and dont mind me

But they HAVE responded.

You can’t expect a personal response to everyone who makes a post. Especially when they have no new information to give out.

They don’t respond to “how long is it going to take” because they are only customer support. Not developers. They don’t KNOW how long its going to take. Its not hard to realise that.

And before you go “they can ask the developers”, no they can’t. Support have said plenty of times in the past, they can’t contact the developers over anything. Contact is a one-way street, from the developers to CS.

Thats also why customer support can’t forward bugs to the developers.

So if anyone still needs help, like i said this issue is specific to Bnet Agent processing.
Use Windows key+R and search for %ProgramData% then find folder "Battle.net (Battle.net\Agent\data) inside it → delete cache folder of bnet agent, also you can delete every folder with name "Agent+numbers if those folders empty.
This is just rediculus how much you have to dance around like a madman with this game on top of paying for it i have never seen problems like that in any other game i played if it was provided by big developers.

Ive had this endless “applying updates” at 0% since last night…

Tried everything except reinstalling the game…

any word about a fix?

Blizz keeps asking me to try to make a new admin account on the computer…

Tried to run battle.net client as admin, but didn’t help…

Try the post directly above you, this specifically:

Did all that… Deleted/stopped all files/processes connected to battle.net and the Agent… did repair to and nothing worked.

Still got stuck with same issue.

But ended up getting it to work when i copied the hole World of Warcraft folder, then renaming the origin folder to something else and then renaming the copy into the the name of the original folder.

Then when i installed the battle.net client (for like the 5th time), it started to work like it should and then update and i could run the game…

Sadly when i was able to run the game it was 03:07, and the servers where down for maintenance…

Greetings everyone! Sorry to see that this issue is being stubborn.

Bxdee solution could actually be indicative of another potential problem involving index files

For who has not already tried this please go into your …/World of Warcraft/Data folder and delete the contents of the indices folder

Then clear up the B.net cache again, which contains some index data as well) and see if this help (https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/34721)

Thank you, and let us know if the issue persists

My friend ran into this same issue, and found the solution on the US forums:

In the installation directory/data/data there is ONE file that is exactly 1kb in size. Delete it, then run a scan and repair.

Not saying that this will fix it for everyone, but it fixed it for my friend. Although I recommend renaming or moving that file rather than deleting it, so it can be restored if need be.
