Stuck on "Connecting"

Hey folks,

Yesterday evening I’ve reinstalled Battle.net Launcher after I’ve encountered a problem.

Since then I’ve been having a problem of stuck on “Connecting” when I launch the game. When I was logging in to the Battle.net Launcher after the fresh install I’ve mistakenly logged in to Americas. Later I’ve changed it to the Europe, selected Europe as my game’s region as well.

It simply opens the “Connecting” modal and after a few seconds both modal and the Email & Password fields show up and stuck like that.

I’ve successfully logged in to the game from a different Windows machine without a problem, so it’s not related to my router or my network.

I’ve reinstalled the Battle.net Launcher, reinstalled the game, cleared caches, checked config.wtf file’s portal value to see if it’s set to EU. Nothing seems to resolve my issue.

And I’m aware of people started having some login problems this morning but my issue started yesterday and it’s not related to that issue.

Does anyone have a clue of what can I try to resolve the issue? Thanks in advance!

PS: I’m on macOS.

try to change your DNS to 8.8.8.8 or other DNS provider
flush DNS
find where is battle.net app cache/all settings, uninstall battle.net app, check if any setting is still there, if yes delete it, install again

SOLVED: WoW Stuck on “Connecting” - Error BLZ51914400 (macOS)

Problem: World of Warcraft stuck on “Connecting” screen or showing error BLZ51914400. Battlenet was running, network was fine, but WoW couldn’t authenticate.

Root Cause: I had previously deleted some Blizzard/Battle.net preference files (.plist files) from my ~/Library/Preferences/ folder.

Two things happened:

  1. Those deleted preference files were never recreated by reinstalling
  2. My Preferences folder had incorrect ownership (owned by root instead of my user account)

This meant WoW and Battlenet couldn’t write or read authentication settings, preventing the connection between WoW and Battlenet Agent from being established.

Solution: I needed to: Fix the ownership of my ~/Library/Preferences/ folder back to my user account Manually recreate the missing com.blizzard.worldofwarcraft.plist file with proper region settings (EU/US)

Lesson learned: Don’t manually delete preference files without backing them up first. Reinstalling doesn’t recreate them if your Preferences folder has permission issues. If you’re experiencing similar connection problems on macOS, check your Preferences folder ownership and make sure Blizzard plist files exist.
