Trying to do update that is apparently needed today but just stuck. Tried everything I can think now doing system restore as one last attempt to fix
- Click Download Mananger
- Click the Cogwheel icon (download settings)
- Uncheck everything on Network Bandwith
- Restart the Battle.net desktop app
Having the same issue. Initializing is taking forever. Up to two hours before the download starts. I’ve tried everything recommended except reinstalling bnet launcher. Third day in a row now. Frustrating as hell.
Where is the download manager?
its something in battlenet app or what?
Cant find something like that
only downloading settings in battlenet and thats it
It’s next to the notification bell. Should be located to the left of your profile name / tag
The downloading arrow icon. Vertical moving arrow icon.
Also, disable all virus programs and VNPs. Virus programs are blocking Blizzard’s files.
Thanks but weird thing is first i see initizalizing goes for 500mb
usually it goes for 10-15mb and the the REAL download begins which ofc can be above 200-300mb
So im at 150/270mb on initializing nowlol
Is it working now after unchecking Network Bandwith? If not;
- Ctrl+Shift+Esc
- End task
-
Battle.net (32 bit)
-
Battle.net Update Agent (32 bit)
and close that window
- Windows+R
copy paste C:\ProgramData\
into the Open field and press Enter
-
Delete the Battle.net folder.
-
Empty trash bin
-
Click the Battle.net desktop shortcut
-
Press Install
It should work.
Same here. Initializing works, but it’s extremely slow. Once the game gets past that and onto the actual download it works fine.
Trying to figure it out right now and I think I know what to do.
-
Restart computer
-
Pause the stuck download
-
activate VNP
-
make sure you are disconnected after activating VNP (so Zen Mate doesn’t works, use another)
-
Connect with VNP
-
The download will complete in seconds
This worked 15 minutes ago for 4 different people. I didn’t live any problem with both 2 downloads.
We are trying to solve it by trial and error method. If some pros are around, their ideas are appreciated.
Why do some people encounter that issue but others do not?
I think this fixed it tho still had to wait a bit thanks for the help
Which one, activating VNP fixed it?
Program data one
i was waiting 1.5 hours to download 100 megabites
at least i got time to do some stuff and a coffee
No fixes worked for me and they pushed out an update just before guild raid time so I had to sit out. It’s chewing through at below 100kb/s while everything else online works fine.
In addition the forums are broken this patch and don’t recognize any characters. The only “fix” was to log onto the forums via the link in the Support window in the ingame client, but I still have “No Characters Available” and cannot switch to my main (this is a bug multiple users are having).
I cancelled my sub a while back (it expires in a month or two) and I swear, ever since, the game seems to be doing it’s best to confirm I made the right choice.
I’ve seen this a few times. Usually restarting the BNet Launcher fixes it. Sometimes clicking Pause on the Download fixes it.
If neither of these work for me I open the game using WoW.exe shortcut instead. You need to log in with this but at least it reminds you what your username and password are…
My work around is swapoing the internet connections to one i tether from my mobile phone IT gets IT out of loop and then i SWAP back to normal connection when it downloads
