Stuck on initialize

This is so infuriating. For several days I was unable to play the game because the patch was stuck on initialize.
I tried this:
Disable automatic updates
Run Battle.net as Admin
Deleted Agent
Set update speed (on latest) to 10.000
Enabled beta client (Battle.net)
Deleted everything Blizzard related
Re-installed Battle.net
Moved installation location to another place
Formatted my computer
Tried Wi-Fi and ethernet
Enabled read & write permissions for both agent and app
Disabled firewall

Wrote a ticket and got a sh!tty answer mentioning two of the things I already stated that I had tried. I finally got the game working by writing an old friend. He sent me a .zip-file with his version of World of Warcraft, I closed the Agents, replaced my folder with his and relaunched Battle.net. Then the download worked. Easy right? Surely that’s something you have to do when you’re paying for game…

Anyway — two days later I’m stuck on initialize again and now the convoluted method of making the download work doesn’t work. This is so fishing infuriating.

Let me play the game without the headache of an app that’s Battle.net. I am so sick of paying to wait…

HELP!

HELP!

Help with what? Just wait for the initialize to finish.
Yes it’s hella slow sometimes.

Last time i waited 22 hours. Look through the forums. There’s obviously something wrong. Many people are experiencing this.

Thanks for the “help”, though. lol

Have you tried unplugging it and plugging it back in?

I wanna thank you for commenting , but that’s about it. I have to assume you’re stuck on initialize too, since you spend your time here?

It’s not stuck if it’s moving slowly. But yes

Battlenet is piece of s*. I opened battlenet, 10.2 downloaded, I played for a while, closed the game, then some new “download” started. I came back now after few hours, opened battlenet, new update downloading, but ofc it is stuck on initialize and after 2 minutes error that update can’t be downloaded. Super well done lame ducks.

I’m sitting here while battlesh*t scans all my files because although I was playing the game fine yesterday its now failing with an error because it wants to update and the update seems to time out. My partner hasn’t played WoW for weeks now because it just wont launch on her system. This is despite a complete reinstall.

I found a temporary fix. Delete all blizzard related files. Shut down your computer. Reinstall battlenet. Get a working wow client from somewhere else. I used a classic client. Place it where the default install would be. Overwrite with a new install. Uninstall classic. Install retail.

Yes. This is a game we pay to play. Easy enough. It’s beyond all critisism. The US forums are full of posts like this. Let us play the game without the sh*show of a HUB that is battle net.
