I decided to switch covenants from Venthyr to Night Fae on Thursday morning before reset. All I had done on Wednesday was hand in 2 completed callings. I was renown 3 with Venthyr when I left.
Everything seemed to be going fine until I received the quest Return Lost Souls and traveled to the Maw, only to realise I was unable to interact with the souls required for the quest.
I am on 2 versions of this quest. The Venthyr one with 5/5 souls collected, ready for hand in and the Night Fae version which I am unable to earn progress towards. I am unable to abandon the Venthyr one (abandon option is greyed out) and using script to abandon the quest does not work.
I believe being on this quest is preventing me from collecting souls for the NF, making me unable to progress my campaign and gain renown.
I’ve had a ticket open for 2 days now, but the current wait time of 11days??? does not give me much hope of getting this issue resolved in time for reset, by which point it is too late and I will most likely encounter the same issue next reset.
I understand “it’s a busy day for Blizzard” but ignoring a paying customer who is unable to play your game or at best sending a generic (go check wowhead) response for an effectively new game with clearly apparent new bugs/issues surfacing daily is not going to solve this kind of problem.
I beg of you, please look into this and allow me to play the game!
Same problem here, opened a thread on Spanish forumn (still no answer), stucked on renown 4 and with the Calling of Revendreth daily also bugged allowing me to repeat it infinitely.
Also want to add how ridiculously difficult is to find the open a ticket option, being sended first around forums and external pages to find a solution I can`t obviusly find there, and to bring me to the point of having to come to forums to open a thread and have to wait several days until it’s checked and then some other days until it’s solved, because we don’t have the option anymore to just open a ticket and keep playing.
All of this talking about a problem that is clearly dragging my character progression behind and affecting my game experience.
Edit: The problem it’s on my goblin priest not on this character.
Just to be clear this issue is on my level 60 warlock, Gnarl - Arathor.
Still no response to my in game ticket and wait time is increasing yet again. Currently 11 days 21 hours average wait time for an issue that prevents story line progression. I have spent more time trawling forums than playing the actual game for 3 days now.
Please help!!
Exact same problem. Switched from Venthyr to Necro with “Return lost souls” finished but not turned in.
I got an automated response to my ticket and locked it as Answered. They did not even bother looking into my problem. Its been 4 days now and I am stuck at renown 4
12 days 2 hours average wait time, still no response in game or to my second web ticket made today.
Thanks for letting me know I’m not alone Bwontulak, but sorry to hear you’re in the same boat and like me already waiting half a reset just for acknowledgement you have a game breaking issue never mind a solution.

Sorry seen so many lost souls bugs that I assumed this was the one from last week, but it’s the same issue in reverse with NF > Venthyr switch in this case.
I would also like to just force abandon the Venthyr version of return Lost Souls to allow progress on the NF one.
Easy solution one would think?
Same problem here… Switched covenants from revendreth to kyrian but the compaign questline didn’t start. Currently stuck at renown 4 and can’t ge thelp anywhere.
You know I actually was stubborn enough to find a way to reach the NPC in the Venthyr sanctuary(I’m Necro now), so I used Pterrodax Swoop to get to the NPC and turn in the quest before being thrown out.
Guess what?
There are no NPCs in there for members of a different covenant xD
I got the same problem. Stuck at renown 4 on my alt who finished the 1000 anima reservoir quest this week. Did all callings, 6 dungeons, 10 bgs, 50 arena matches - no renown emblem or anything. Where is this catch up system they promised?! How does it work? I want to be ready for reset getting renown 7 instantly for honor gear upgrades… 
This should now be fixed. My old quest was removed and I was able to collect 5 more souls and hand in with my new covenant.
I did not interact with a GM, I just happened to notice, so this may not be communicated with players.
Hey everyone,
There were some hotfixes applied that should help with the majority of these cases. The quest “Return lost souls” should now abandon itself if it’s for the covenant you left.
If the problem is resolved for the posters in here, can you be sure to close your tickets to help reduce the current queue wait times. Otherwise if you still have an issue leave the ticket open and Game Masters will reach you as soon as they can

I received a GM response yesterday that there is nothing they could do and the problem had to be solved by a Dev.
I still see the quest in my inventory which I cannot abandon in order to progress with the new “Return lost Souls”. Were these hotfixes applied only in the US maybe?
Have you been able to start the same quest for your current Covenant?
Yes. I have both the old one which says to turn it in, and the new one which says to collect. Should I try dropping the new one and picking it up again? Maybe that would make the hotfix apply
Edit: I abandoned the new “Return Lost Souls” and picked it up again. The old one is still in my quest log.
Should I make a new ticket in case mine is a particular case? I already had a ticket and they responded and closed my ticket without fixing the problem
