Stuck on Retrieving Character List screen

Client logs into servers then gets stuck at Retrieving Character List, with all elements on screen unclickable and partially loaded.

The update was supposed to finish at 4:00 AM… It’s 4:21 AM and we don’t even have an explanation message…

Still stuck on ‘Retrieving character list’

The only way past this is to ALT-F4.

After some time, maybe a minute, a blue ‘loading’ bar, around 80% full, appears at the top of the screen.

An explanation message would indicate they value their customers.

This kind of situation definitely effects my thought process when deciding how much longer I want to subscribe for.
