So I have somewhat of a weird issue. I have world of warcraft installed on both of my drives, my SSD and my HDD. For obvious reasons, i use my SSD as my primary drive for whenever i want to launch wow.
Now for the issue: Since this morning, i’ve been unable to update the game on my primary drive - my SSD. The client simply repeatedly scans the files without any end to it. I tried deleting the .Idx files in the data folder, i’ve tried launching the game directly from the launcher file, this simply takes me back to the Bnet client, which then starts scanning files.
Now for the funny part: I then - as a last resort - changed my game location to my :E drive, aka. my HDD. Low and behold, the game updates just fine, i’m able to launch, log in and play.
I’m dumbfounded as i have no idea why the game won’t install on my SSD.
in your \World of Warcraft\Data\data folder, delete or remove to a backup location all data files that are only 1kb in size.
don’t delete any big data files!! Or may have to have a lot of GB to redownload.
don’t delete files you’re removing. Should be only 1kb size ones. Move them to a backup location.
-Once everything works without them you can delete them from backup location.
So remove only 1kb size data files to a backup location. (from inside your \World of Warcraft\Data\data folder)
