Hello there. For the past month or maybe a bit less I encounter random stuttering for 0.5secs to 1sec during combat. This happens though only in dungeons and raids. It won’t happen when I am fighting alone in the world.
I did try to read guides and “how to fix stuttering” guides all over the internet with no result.
The only thing so far that worked it was me resetting my UI going fresh with fresh installed addons and interface. It was fine for a week. Then it started doing it again.
Is there a way to identify what’s going wrong?
Here are my specs:
CPU: AMD Threadripper 2920x
MB: ASUS Prime X399
RAM: 32GB DDR4 GSkill Trident Z at 3200Mhz
STORAGE: NVMe Samsung 980 Pro 1TB (game is installed here)
MONITOR: Samsung S27R35x
GRAPHIC ADAPTER: INNO3D 2070 Super Jet Edition
OS: Windows 11
All drivers are in the latest versions.

The starting question: did you tried without any addons and addon files?
If it’s not addons then could be SSD problem (to little free space to perform optimally or having problems), Nvidia driver conflict (remove with DDU and install fresh after reboot), third party app going hard on CPU or GPU while WoW is running, some overlays sometimes (like Discord, MSI Afterburner sometimes conflict with WoW).
You can run “userbenchmark” before running the game, then when the game is running and does not stutter and third time when it’s stuttering and post all 3 URLs here (each component will have percentile performance marker vs other copies of self so it will be easy to see if like SSD or something else has a problem).

Looks like it’s an addon as I do not get stuttering with all addons disabled. Will try to identify it. Thank you.
Look at that samsung 980. Even without the game running it has a very low percentile. Check if removing some noticeable amount of GB improves it. If not then it could be slowly dying or having some other problem.
Addons can be I/O heavy which can hamner that ssd
Activating addons one by and and entering dungeons. No issues so far. Still trying to figure out if a specific addon was making it stutter.

So it’s not the addons. It’s combat logging. Once I activate that the stuttering starts.
Found out as on of my addons was activating it and was causing the issue.
Any ideas?
So it’s addon + combatlog? The addon can dump to much data due to error or something, then there can be pure write problem on the drive side. Can you place WoW on a different drive to test if it’s the problem? Also check if the filesize isn’t rapidly growing during stuttering.
Just combatlogging does the issue.
Will move it and check again.
