Hi!
I have an issue where after playing the game for an hour or two, I encounter loads of stuttering and freezing of the game for fractions of a second at a time.
I have encountered this in the past too so I reinstalled Windows onto my PC completely and reinstalled WoW on my SSD. For a period of time WoW ran perfectly and I never had any of the aformentioned issues.
Interestingly, if I turn my PC off for 10s and relaunch the game, the issue doesn’t seem to occur.
I have included two videos which showcase before and after turning off my PC and starting WoW.
I have tried and tested to see if it is an addon causing these issues but I am 95% confident that isn’t the case.
The specs of my PC are as follows:
Intel Core I7-8700 3.2GHz
8gb Ram
Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti
128gb BC501 NVMe SK hynix SSD
1tb ST1000DM010-2EP102 HDD

Did you check the CPU and GPU temperatures when the stuttering starts?
How much RAM is used up?
Using about 90% of my RAM :L
Ok, that is not good.
Is WoW.exe using too much? How much?
Could be the memory leak bug lots of people are complaining about.
If WoW is using 3-4GB that is about right, then you should close all other programs that are not needed.
Hello Níbblez
For that sort of latency and performance issues I would recommend that you start with these initial troubleshooting steps.
From the videos you posted here it seems you may have your game running with the graphics quality on high settings, so consider reducing those settings to below 7 to see if that improves the game performance, since running the game at graphics quality 9 or 10 can be quite demanding for most PCs, even top end ones.
Should you continue to have issues after performing these steps, please reply back to this post with your system files pasted via Pastebin so we can carry on with your case and have a deeper look at what else may be affecting your PC.
Didn’t help. I suffer the same issues on low graphics settings.

To me it looks more like the system trying to keep up with the demand of RAM. You wouldn’t be the first or last with that issue since 8.3.

Did you try disabling all addons and see if it persists?
If even without addons this problem persists, then the only explanation would probably be faulty hardware, try checking your RAM/SSD performance.

Heya Níbblez,
Thanks for getting back to us with all the files you have so far and I hope we can get this sorted with you. There’s a fair amount of information to go through but the main issue does appear to be memory related.
On your MSinfo, there are some bluescreens one of which is a Page Corruption. Similarly, DWM (What makes windows pretty) is also crashing a fair amount. Typically this indicates driver related issues however, in combination with the other errors, this more likely to be memory related. In your case, I believe that you are periodically running out of or memory,
There is one thing I would like to call out. Your hardware does support dual-channel memory but, instead, it is using 1 single stick of ram. This will act as a bottleneck which I suspect a contributing factor to the periodic stutter you see.
Given your set up, I suspect you will be able to work around this issue by using Directx 11 Legacy in the in-game options. As you are probably ooming and you are using addons, I would highly recommend that you reset your games to defaults as they can definitely be a contributing factor fi.
