Stuttering on new laptop

Heya!
I got a new laptop, an Erazer Major X20 with IntelCore processor (i7-14700HX (28 CPUs), ~2.1GHz) and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU - you can find a full DxDiag here: https://pastebin.com/5sPsvsJb

I don’t use any addons yet, and still the game stutters frequently. This isn’t limited to big cities or raids or anything, also like in some random BfA open world zone. Obviously this shouldn’t happening with 2024 hardware and with graphics settings on low. I tried most other settings tips I’ve found - setting render scaling to exactly 100%, no antialiasing, no raytracing, max FPS 120, … nothing’s working.

I also don’t think that it’s thermal throttling, as the GPU has maybe 55-60 °C. I also set various CPU related stuff via Process Lasso, like high priority for Wow.exe, disabled efficiency cores, set an energy plan… no luck yet. Any ideas?

its your cpu its likely not that compatible with your gpu.
also if its above 6 cores, i have noticed in wow it does you a little bit of a disservice.
I think there was a way to limit a processors cores but i dont remember how that standed.

I don’t see any reason to believe CPU and GPU aren’t compatible as this is a pre-built laptop (the Erazer Major X20 from Medion). I can try limiting Wow.exe to 6 cores and report back, thanks for the suggestion.

edit: It probably was the core number. I disabled hyper-threading via Process Lasso, which resulted in excluding all cores except 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14. Haven’t had any issues since (yet).
Will post again if that changes.
