Stuttering/frame skip

Hey all I’m having a random issue, I was running around borlaus yesterday and every thing was fine. I then mounted up, dismounted a little later and noticed some stuttering when running around. I reloaded the ui and it fixed the problem but then i mounted again and the same thing happened more stuttering. My fps stays pretty stable I’ve tried my addons and it’s not them. I updated my graphics driver and its not that so I don’t know what it is I’ve also changed direct x and vsync still happens. It even happened when I mounted inside hfc to clear my bags.

Can anyone help me out at all with any other suggestion.

If a /reloadUI had any impact on the issue it is very likely that the root cause of this odd effect must be an addon of some kind - since all the command does is basically re-start the game interface/addons.

From your post it unfortunately wasn’t clear if you actually removed the addons and their cached data or just disabled them. The latter would not be sufficient in most cases (especially when its related to performance/stability problems), so I would recommend to give these steps a try for a fully clean slate.

I’ve actually already done that :pensive: sorry I should of said apologies.

I have a similar issue. Since yesterday i noticed my character will sort of stutter mid movement. The best i could replicate this so far is with the W A S D Q E and space keys. Everything works just fine with autorun or mouse movement. No frame drops whatsoever just my character looking like he’s going into an epileptic shock if that’s a graphical enough of a description. So far i’ve updated Windows and my GPU drivers. I will try repairing the wow folder next, to see if that fixes the issue
Edit: renaming the WTF, Interface and Cache folders did not solve the issue. Also i noticed that the character sort of moves slower when i use movement keys.

Like you I have a similar issue where I am receiving frame skips or micro stuttering.

I removed the WTF,Interface and Cache folders so stripped it back to basics but still receiving this weird error.

I sometimes run it in a Window so tried it full screen and still get these stutters.

Tried DX 11 , Still stutters.

Tried lowest gfx settings, Still stutters.

All of this only happens on my mage though for some odd reason.

Ok the plot thickens…

I created a class trial 110 Undead Mage to test out and on the class trial it appears to run smooth no frame skips or anything,

Example i used my 120 Undead Mage and flew over Orgrimmar and experienced suttering, I used this 110 Class Trial mage and flew over the same route over Org and it was smooth as silk.

The only difference between my 110 and 120 is that my 120 mage was initially Alliance and I faction changed it, Surely this wouldnt cause an issue??

For the time being i seem to have solved it. Basically it was a keyboard issue since the movement problem was also replicated in other games.
Basically i had accidentally set the repeat rate for my keyaboard to above 1X so a simple FN(function key)+ F9 (my assigned 1X repeat rate key) fixxed it. I will get back to this post if the issue re appears.
Hope this helps.

Many thanks for the reply, I have a Logitech G15 but dont use any of the G keys (Not sure why I bought it way back when now lol).

The issue I have is only limited to 1 character(I have about 12 other 120,s, Im an altoholic lol), All of the others are fine it,s just this one which is really odd…

I also do not get “jittering” in any other game which is why this baffles me so much

Thanks though!

That’s indeed weird. Have you considered completely deleting that one character xD?
All kidding aside though, this might be a different issue for you i guess. Although i’ll say this. Some of my characters had it worse for me. My main( a worgen male) just looked like someone had cast a slow spell on him while he ran. My female worgen warrior was different though. She sometimes froze mid her run animation and just floated forward.
I don’t know how to help you with what i’m reading so far however.
Have you tried updating windows? I had a huge update yesterday. It actually made me think it might have been the cause of the jittering for a while.

Ok Update

I just tried my mage on my laptop (8750H, 16GB Ram, GTX 1070) and got 0 frame skips so it seems its something to do with my computer but still odd why it only affects my mage.

May be a windows reinstall time…

Tried a GFX driver update still stuttering…This is so weird.

I’ve noticed there is a ghost item in my bags (red question mark black background no tool tip) from a bugged sale I made, turns out if I use the addon bagnon (my standard addon) or stock bag ui I stutter I’m currently having to use adibags.

I can’t delete, or sell the ghost item and the stutter only occurs on my main and a couple of the toons also with the same bugged item.

I’ve contacted a gm but its a 2 day wait still. But atm adibags has fixed the issue
