I’m thinking of leveling a rogue, and I kinda want to use a sword in offhand like it used to be before. Is that even viable? How much will it “nerf” my rogue if I do that?
Also should I level rogue? Is that a good idea with the current state of the class?
It does matter a decent bit because using a slow weapon slows your energy regeneration. A percent to a couple of percent at most, for a more exact idea I’d recommend you would sim it.
Shadow Techniques is not normalised, this makes a slow weapon (axe/sword/mace/fist) in offhand weaker unless there is a big item level difference. Use a simulation to evaluate.
Well if its just for the stats that is entirely stupid imo. The damage lost from the offhand being slow is way higher than what you gain in statweight even with the 40% buff
Yes is only for the stats, the pvp mace have Mastery/versa
The difference is only about the Shadow Techniques passive ability.
With a Slow hand you get the proc slower (on the 5th auto attack is 100% guaranteed)
So if we think in a PvP situation. A fast burst, where there will not be much autoattack? Will it still better with two daggers? I appreciate your input. Im learning, have been away from WoW for a long time, hehe.
Depend what comp you play, if u play 2s with a mage, i dont think its so important have a dagger in off (better choose stats)
If you prefer healer, and stay out of stealth a lot, in tanky situation, dagger will generate more cp (and energy)
For pvp its not an issue as you play around burst windows so sword mainhand with favourable stats like mastery/verse is more suitable than a dagger with haste/verse.
Pvp you actually right now WANT a one hander off hand, but only because you can get better stats (versa/mastery) and the energy regen isn’t very critical or rng combo points when you make your entire play in 5 seconds then bail.
Pve you will only use a one hander off hand if it’s a superior weapon overall , if its equal to a dagger you have on demand your just not doing your self justice
