Is anyone going to be maining sub in df on launch?
When reading talents on PTR and watching YouTube it seems like blizzard has “over looked” Sub.
Their new talent design seems pretty boring compared to what outlaw and assa are getting.
i imagine most will just play whats meta tbh, and maybe some will mess around with the other speccs for laughs.. prolly be a minority who seriously attempt the off meta speccs though.
i say this mainly based on the fact, assassination and Sub have less then 1% of the rogues logs xD
I’ll just play whatever makes the most sense for the job, either thats sub, outlaw or sin totally and solely depends on that and not much else 
this spec is just damage buff stacker…
feels like there was no time to actually design something for Subtlety…
Devs killed this spec in BFA and make it borring to play… after Legion this spec lost too much… high damage hits (big single number) … AoE burst… good rotation… nice damage cuvre… all is lost… and it’s not going to be good in Dragonflight…
reminder:
Talent Secret Technique does same dmg as Eviscerate but the damage is splitted to all targets… HUH ???

It’s worse than spit in face. (now it’s 4. xpac this ability is garbage with hard capped damage)

they just don’t get it…
I understand that there will be meta specs etc. for content.. But this is 2022, and honestly from a pve perspective it’s a little annoying that we can’t actually play what we enjoy without being punished.
And before anyone goes on and says “there are people who enjoys meta” yes that’s all perfectly fine - but we are some that enjoy certain specs, and it’s just frustrating that people look at meta and decides you’re useless because you don’t play xyz spec.
Unless you are in a cutting edge guild, long as you can do your job, it really doesn’t matter at all. It’s more of an issue for PUGs, where people often are blinded by the perception of the Meta, without realizing what things contribute to it at all.
You’re absolutely correct. And this illusion, creates the result of people not picking you in pugs, due to you not playing meta. 
Tbh i wouldnt say people in pugs are blinded, the problem is what a good player can achieve and what a bad player can achieve.
Sub is bottom of the barrel, we arent talking about a mid pack dps over top dps, we are talkijg polar opposites here.
And yes ive had sub rogues in my group and timed keys perfectly fine, its possible. However sub rogue already has to work harder then the average to reach that dps due to how much closer to 99 percentile they have to play to achieve it.
Sub is also mechanically challanging, and pugs are a random guessing game in terms of if theyre good or not so people will simply stick to safe options. Theres a reason why even tho BM isnt meta or better then survival, groyps will keep bringing them.
Also to add:
M+ groups get spammed with 300 applicstions from dps, ur in a role where im afraid theres too many of you for groups to not just invite the best 3.
When dps will spam apply to groups in such masses, you cant blame the group leader for inviting the best 3.
You dont rly see this problem for tanks / healers. People take off meta choices regularly as those roles are harder to come by.
The popularity of dps plays against you by nature.
