Sub rogue, especially as seen in Midnight beta, will revolve on two core abilities: Shadowstrike and Secret Techniques.
And both abilities share the exact same animation.
This makes and will confirm this spec to be one of the most underwhelming visual experience in the entire game.
Gameplay loop is boring to both play and feel.
Sub is the only rogue spec fantasy I love and I want this to work, but it needs some serious rework and get on par with modern gameplay feel much like Combat received during Legion with Outlaw.
Outlaw currently has one of the most appealing visual kits in the game, with Main gauche and Triple Threat adding so much auto-attack variety that just feels amazing.
Not to mention Pistol Shot and everything in the middle.
Sub rogue is just spamming the same animation over and over and then wait for cds to come back. This is A DISASTER.
If it was up to me I’d rework the entire specialization into some kind of Voidreaver based on Princess Ky’veza playstyle fantasy, with clones and dashes.
But I understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
The clone identity Sub is taking with Midnight is interesting but definitely still not enough. It needs a real spin, it needs to implement more animation variety and more appealing visual feedback.
Also, baseline rogue features 2x abilities that URGENTLY require a visual upgrade: Shadowstep and Sprint.
These two abilities have not been touched or changed AT ALL since their very first release in vanilla/TBC and they feel so horribly outdated.
Please fix this spec because it’s completely forgotten by everyone except all those 32 people worldwide still playing it.
