Can sub still be on a competitive level as the other two specs?
I know that sub lack damage but is there a way to make sub m+, raid, pvp viable?
Its Niché and requires alot more work for obvious reasons to make it well, viable.
Sub is okay in PvP but I wouldn’t play it personally without a ton of mastery/versatility gear, with decent corruption (e.g. mastery corruption) and at least one of, but ideally both bike + drest and essences.
sub is complete useless spec in both pvp and pve rn, sub spec is only viable in 2s either with a fire mage or shadow priest.Also if u want to play sub rogue you must have the motorcycle trinket and dresgath trinket, i have insane gear as sub rogue %101 mastery with mastery proc corruptions , when i stack every single cd+proc eviscrate crits for max 70k, also on top of that your sustain dps is less then the passive self heals of other classes.
max eviscerate i’ve done in arena is 170 something. i frequently hit eviscerates well over 100, squishies more like 140.
I don’t know much about the high-end content. I think I’ve done one M+ in my entire life, and that wasn’t on rogue. But I do know that in open world solo content, even with comparable gear and same enemies, subtlety rogue completely flops compared to my other mains (fire mage, demo lock, marks hunter and fury warrior).
I get that it’s not easy to design around a sneaky class. Blizz can’t just turn the game into the Arkham series with Invisible Predator always on. But I don’t feel like any kind of assassin or thief or anything right now, just a sneak who has no business being in combat of any kind, because I end up slowly chipping away at their health and juggling some cooldowns that barely seem to do anything.
If the spec is getting an overhaul, it can’t come fast enough.
The problem is when your burst is over which is shadow dance.
Backstab hit the lowest of all classes.
Its Just laughable.
Good think they will do some work with sub in SL.
But still out of shadow dance the damage will be laughable.
Imo, they should bring back the golden state for the rogue, when assassins were raid/pvp, combat rogues (outlaw) were for lvling, and gearing, and subtlety for world pvp, and arenas. That makes sense overall, and if you want to learn rogue, learn it! Outlaw should remain for m+, and so on… just forget about subtlety pve pls…
If you are not doing mythic raids or M15+? Sub is just as bas like the others
I have a tons of fun with my ninja fox and don’t have a problem with quest or such, not even horrific visions/N’zoth invasions… even shine a bit in pvp
If you are a hardcore gamer? Yes, stay away from it, all the others are better
If just casual? Do whatever you want and have fun!
the thing is that every other class out dps sub right now. no matter what m+ you do every other class outdps you.
out of shadow dance sub is just meh.
I actually think I queued into you when I started climbing and my details recorded 182k on my Mage.
But that wasn’t enough to kill !
yeah, i got a mastery corruption so i switched all my gems and enchants to mastery since making that post. currently my top evis in arena is 213k. the biggest ones are on mages with bote, do hardly anything to high armor. top drest’agath so far is 193k, both those at the same time is really big.
