I might have encountered a bug. Vanish into active trinket(“Paracausal Fragment of Doomhammer” in my case) don’t proc Subterfuge. I started playing a rogue a week ago, so I don’t know if it’s an intentional behaviour 
From my experience it only triggers if the reason you left stealth puts you in combat. So, attacking or getting caught in aoe. Fun stuff! Another funny thing - assa’s similarly worded garrote “can use for 3 seconds after laving stealth” thingy works without any issues. Isn’t life wonderful and full of discoveries?
