Hello. Before I start, I’d like to point out that I’m not sure if this game related problem, but I hope someone here can help me who knows what’s going on or may have had the same issue and resolved it.
6 months ago I bought a new computer and WoW was the first thing I installed of course. Everything was smooth until recently like a week ago. I haven’t been playing any other game except WoW for a while so I wouldn’t know if the problem is connected to the game because of the graphics settings or something else, I have no idea.
While I’m playing, my screen just goes black out of nowhere (connected via display port), but I’m sure my monitor is not the problem since in the background (while I still have my headphones on) I can hear everything getting disconnected like Discord audio chat with guildies and basicly the game disconnecting and putting me to Login Screen since I can recognise the music. I tried switching the display port sides and turning off the monitor, it’s just not fixing the problem.
I have tried repairing WoW client via launcher. I tried updating my Windows up to date and AMD graphics are also up to date. BTW, in recent update notes I saw they wrote “Performing a task switch with some Radeon Software features enabled or some third-party applications with hardware acceleration running in the background may cause a system hang or black screen.” and I thought that was the problem and that they fixed it with the update, but it’s not fixed. In fact, I think it’s getting worse. It happens once or twice a day and I need to manually hold the power button to turn off the computer and turn it on again.
I really have no idea what can cause this or how can I fix it because I’m being annoyed at this point since the computer is new and I paid a lot for it. Doubt that the malware could cause this because I was strictly avoiding any kind of suspicious downloads and basicly download any stuff I need on my laptop.
Here are the specifics:
