how about there is no myth TRACK. there are tracks from explorer to heroic just like they are now, but then drops from Mythic Raids and 10+ keys are 3-6 ilvl’s higher than the final track can reach STATIC. you ONLY get those item levels by doing the hardest content, and if you manage to do that, you have the Quality of life to NOT need to upgrade it even further.
let the top gear drop as an end of dungeon reward at 10+
i am well aware that this would incentivize raiders to do mythic + to aid their progression, but i really think thats okay.
let the mythic raid be done for glory, specific trinkets and equipment with special effects.
but allow people to progress their characters on their own terms, on their own time, with fewer people when that is their circumstance.
i think blizzard is too afraid of people gearing up their characters too fast and then just stop playing. but i know alot of people will move on to different classes and keep playing. the fact of the matter is that, for most people ; if the character progression is not fun, the game isn’t fun.
I mean the key issues are certain pieces (trinkets in particular) and those could be eased up with I don’t know some sort of “ok you don’t get loot for X amount of weeks (your own choice) but get a token instead and in 3 weeks you can buy the item or something (mythic raid items still requiring that the boss has been killed)” or whatever.
The rest of slots people usually don’t really care about in comparison as long as the track is correct. Think the main issue here (if any) is the lack of crests per week and the spark items crest requirement since they nerfed that quite heavily since their introduction.
I think you are just ignoring the effect that gear has no mythic raid. Matter of fact is that in the first 2-3 weeks, mythic guilds have almost everything they need from hc (excluding rare items and some trinkets).
What myth track progression offer is a way to give you power over time, so that first bosses on mythic do not fall over, and later bosses become easier week by week. Removing that myth track will just increase the need for nerfs or raid style buffs for mythic.
