Title. It’s so frustrating having people need the item you need, just to leave the group before the roll is over. If they win, the item gets lost and unused, and there’s nothing you can do about it. By leaving, you clearly show that you don’t care about the item, and therefore should be disqualified for the roll. Anything else makes no sense.

That’s not the case already? I’m going to guess that’s probably an oversight bug it.
Yeah, that’s how it works unfortunately. Just this morning, I lost two items this way, trinket and a tier token. That’s the equivalent of 110 fragments. The different forms of griefing going on adds up very quickly, and just wastes peoples time.
Better option would be mailing the loot to winner. Some people grief and ninja also by waiting for everyone else to leave before pressing need.
Like you said, current system wastes peoples time so you should be allowed to leave and still get the loot if won roll.
