I’m sick of seeing other players killing a bunch of beast mobs and not bothering to loot them afterward, meaning I can’t skin them.
Earlier in Frost Peaks there was a Mage rounding up massive groups of mammoths and worms, AOEing them down but not bothering to loot, meaning there were like 24 dead mobs in a pile that I couldn’t even skin. What a waste!
I never skin a beast if I suspect that the person who killed it is also a skinner. I always watch and wait, but it’s obvious that some of these guys are not skinners, so I should be able to have the skins, surely?
So suggestion is, please make me able to skin mobs even if they haven’t been looted.
Why do you feel like you should be allowed to skin something you didn’t kill? You should be happy for the ones that are looted and you can skin without having to waste time killing it yourself, nothing more.
Or why stop there? Don’t you feel like you should be allowed to loot them too? Because they didnt?
Being able to skin before looting is just going to be used to grief, stealing skins or despawning loot.
I am all for enable skinning on tapped monsters as long as they are not being looted or 15 sec from any interaction (killing, looting). But act of skinning should tramsform monter into pile of meat that can still be looted by original owner.
Kill your own beasts then so you can loot them and skin them.
The restriction is literally in place so you can’t despawn other people their mobs until they have looted it. Be grateful that people are allowing you to skin their tags at all.
Ever ask yourself why it’s like that in the first place? If you could skin beasts still with loot, then players would grief others by following them around skinning before they looted.
