I know I’m going on a nostalgia trip right now but I remember when shamans used to able to wield two-handers, and I hate being forced to equip one-handed weapons when playing in Enhancement spec. Please, Blizz. Give this back to us

Same thing applies to 2h I mean xD.
From what I see, there are 4 type of shaman poster in the forums:

Classic players: the regular 2h/shaman tank/SS and WF must hit big posts.

Legion players: enh is elemental and must return to melee style.

Retail players: shaman is mostly fine playstyle wise, but need more defs/more dmg/uncapped aoe/ both playstyles to work.

Anti PWave players: the Pwave must be deleted camp.

Blizzard is adding a shield imbuement for resto shamans what are you speaking about?
Whats the problem to make 2handers for enhance to have 2 imbuements and you fix it simple and easy 2handers and 1hander x2 shares same stat value nowdays you dont get any drop of DPS from using Main hand/offhand as a caster compared to the same ILVL 2hander staff/Spear/mace.
I am not a classic player and i do want 2hander back for enhance for the visuals there is nothing wrong with that at all if you want the game/spec/class to stay the same its you , we want the class/spec to grow/change/evolve/have more options with that state of mind you should be crying about Hero Talents also because they are changing the spec you are playing and oh boi oh boi resto will have to use a shield now for imbuement in TWW why wont you cry about it also?
This thread is about enh shamans, and sorry but I do not think I have the expertise to talk about resto.
The last problems is the imbues. The spec is build upon procs and procs, when people “ask” for 2h, generally they conveniently ignore all the mechanics that scale with AS/hits. I do not have a problem with 2h per se (I also like them and would like to see shamans use them), but I have kind of dislike when people do not really understand the implication of what they are asking.
Again, I disagree with blizz on the “visual” aspect, and think it would be fine with giving us a glyph that would allow to tmog DW into 2h for shamans (for those that want the visuals).
But do I think it is a good investment of dev time to rework/remake the spec for something that would have 0 gameplay impact? Nah, I’d want it spent trying to make the spec better for people that play it.
Ofc its AS/Hits dependant and the solution is very simple , you increase the proc chance on a 2hander as it is almost x2 times slower then 1hander its a simple math work also our Windfury is the only Proc from auto attacks and oh my oh my almost no one uses it as its shiat if you go Elementalist meta dps.
So its cool that you want to have the visual option to do so but if you are worried about giving it to us even not as visual but as an option it is also simple done a lot of classes weave between 2handers/duel wield and all of them also have proc chances and there is very simple solutions that some specs/classes already use .
Also would like to add its an MMO nothing will ever be balanced here and its fine every season specs change and meta change dependent on a lot of factors at some places 2hander might be 0.1% better for Lightning build maybe next it will be 0.1% worse and its fine , we shouldn’t be scared or deny additions/changes/options/builds.
The devs already invested a lot of time into Hero talents that change the spec/talents/builds you pick dependent on the hero talents across all classes/specs adding 2hander option wont change a thing as again simple math of Attack per second and proc chance to have the same estimate of procs per minute on duel wield simple and straight forward , so visual or not only visual i am fine with both be it even a Hero talent dedicated to have an option to use 2hander.
All the love shaman brother at the end we want the best for our class : ) more Wolf forms and new ascendent model lets hope for that also.
