now that some time has passed in Season 1, I have a suggestion regarding the gearing system in Mythic+.
Problem:
My friends and I quickly reach a point where we have all Mythic+ achievements with rewards, and eventually we only play “Vault gameplay” because, without raids, the only way to get 639 ilvl items is through the Vault. Time-wise, it’s simply not appealing to raid 2-3 days a week to offset this a bit.
Pushing the score further also feels pointless because there’s nothing comparable to something like a “Gladiator Mount”. This leads to logging in only for the Vault and then logging off again, which over time results in many breaks due to the lack of motivation.
Suggestion:
After considerable thought, I came up with the following suggestion that might solve the problem for my team. Since the Crests kinda already have a “gatekeeping” system, it would make sense, in our opinion, to have the ability to transform a fully upgraded 6/6 Hero item ilvl 626 into a 1/6 Myth item. For example, this could cost 60-80 Gilded Crests, as it is proportional to “craft items” but can upgrade 3 ilvl more. So u going trough the upgrade Cost for the Hero item and on Top a Cost to transform it.
This would mitigate some of the “bad luck” in the Vault. I mean, just look at the Ara Kara Trinket! However, it wouldn’t be grindable because the Crests are relatively capped anyway. This would at least give us a reason to keep playing Mythic+ beyond just the Vault. Achieving a score of 2.5k - 2.6k is quite quick.
