This is my suggestion how to make finding and making groups for mythic+ much less painful, and downright easy and a lot more accessible. My suggestion is making a new tab specific for mythic pluss. Less tedious and frightening than the current one. It’ll be fast and easy to use, with the option of customizing your own group.
The process will look something like this.
Mythic+ dungeon finder
Press (i) and select mythic+
Two options:
List your own key
Find group
1 - List key menu; Dungeon and key is preselected from key in inventory.
ilvl has recommended ilvl pre-selected. You can change this to whatever you’d like.
IO score has recommended / avg score selected. This is also customizable.
Group composition has “All” pre-selected. Also customizeable to whatever specs you’d like to be able to queue for your key.
Step 2 is “list key”, now only the ones who meet your specifications will be able to join / see key listed. (No more baiting people you wouldn’t have invited anyway but still sits hopeful in the queue.)
- Invites will roll out automatically to people who meets the requirements.
2 - On the “find group” perspective the menu looks as following.
Specify dungeon you want to do. Multiple dungeons can be selected.
Chose key lvl from drop-down menu. If you want you can select “from key-lvl - to key-lvl” aka search for +10 to +12.
Simply click “search” and you will automaticly go in queue for any of the dungeons listed that you meet the requirements from.
Everything is automatic. People will get a pop-up with an invitation done by the system. People are free to do other things while in queue. They don’t have to constantly be searching for groups, getting declined. Now they can do their own thing while in queue waiting for a pop-up. This makes the whole ordeal much, much less frustrating. It makes listing your own key not scary anymore. People would rather have a long-ish wait time but to know they are guaranteed to get an invite eventually. Also to note, keys below lvl 20 will not drop down by 1 if its depleted. Punishment for depleting is already not getting the ilvl from end of dungeon that you wanted, the IO score you were after etc. Also prevent some frustration if someone were you leave mid-dungeon for whatever reason. Normal 30min deserter debuff is given to the first player leaving.
Custom listing as before still exists. Likely used for high keys or people preferring the old method.
I can see what you’re trying to do but it’s not foolproof, Like for instance i’ve had people sign up as tank for +20 but when checking closer they’ve only dpsed before and never tanked so there’s situations like that…
Also I would not automatically invite people way above the “requirements” because they tend to leave if things does not go as smooth as they’d like. Automatic would not let you make a feelings based assumption on who is the most motivated to finish the key.
People who don’t care about who they invite to their groups can literally just accept the first people who apply to their key after setting their own ilvl requirements.
1: it’s their key. Why not let people LFG pug with random players at their own risk? If people wanna go fast, let them?
It’s like random vs rated bg. No reason to have only the current M+ system going.
2: never done more than maybe 3 mythics in my entire life.
Why do you people do it? What’s the point in doing the same dungeons vs poor ai mobile target dummies 100 times in a row with some augmented modifiers tossed into the mix, to get bigger gear to do harder content? Is that rewarding or fun for anyone, really?
I play 90% random bgs on all my alts all day, because that is fun. Fast games, unpredictable matches and enemies, outplaying others, playing in general.
Any pve M+/raiding to me is like the most boring torture imaginable.
The only way to do Mythics and raids is legacy content so you can chill, read and enjoy the lore, cutscenes at your own pace, get all the transmog loot, etc.
I never understood M+ /raiders in the current season. It’s just a terrible waste of time and ooooooh sooooooooooo boooooooooooring.
I see your point, and no system is foolproof imo. Thing is, this makes the point of entry, for even starting your own key much easier. It makes it so there isn’t too many people searching and too few listing. It takes some power away from the player and nudging them in the direction of not being super critical of what specs they invite for their +15 key. Also to answer your concern; IO score could easily be connected to your role (dps/tank/heal), in which it has to meet the requirement set by the key lister.
Again, this is a system that could exist next to the current one.
I actually have a suggestion to improve LFG. Blizzard if you are listening can you make it so that we can actually see a persons spec not just their class.
Dungeon Finder needs a new form of challenging dungeoneering separate to M+. Any changes made to make M+ work with match making would mean it was no longer M+.
Leave M+ to those who have stable social circle to do it with and introduce something new that works with LFD.
