Just a simple suggestion - make some kind of portal room or whatever that lets you access raids which are locked behind long, boring stories. I’m trying to get to Ny’alotha at the moment, and I’m having to go through so much boring stuff, when there could just be a portal to get there. It’s not even clear what you have to do to unlock it, its an utterly awful experience in every single possible way, its boring, its long, its confusing, frustrating and it’s stupid.
I understand some people want to do the story to unlock content. So all you have to do is make it when you take a portal to a raid, it acts the same way as if you were summoned there by someone who had already unlocked it. Then, if people want to unlock it the normal way, they still can. It doesn’t ruin anything.
Another thing, the quest chains, the whole thing, is just awful and confusing. Sometimes I have to follow some extensive step by step guide just to get simple things done, and usually there are a few things I never would have thought to have done… I don’t know why Blizzard thinks this is even remotely acceptable. Just make some kind of UI that guides you through the quests you need, from the start of an expansion until the end, instead of it being some guessing game who to talk to next, and where they’ll be hiding. You shouldn’t need a guide written by some random person on the internet, it should be in the game.

The game already feels like it is leading you by hand highlighting everyone you need to talk to, marking every spot. What more guidance do you need? A "complete " button after you accepted a quest?
What you say is generally true, but overall, your comment is wrong.
If you haven’t encountered these kinds of issues and frustrations, either you’re new to the game, or you’ve been playing so long that you know so much that its not an issue for you.
I’m sure you’ll come up with some generic statement which makes it sound like there’s no issue, or that no improvement could or should be made. Feel free to do that, but I disagree with you in advance. You can pretty much look all over wowhead and see and almost endless amount of confused posts over all sorts of quests and quest chains and so on. Mostly its to do with when you want to go back to old content, its not so bad when its current content because you naturally keep up with things.
It is bad but I don’t think the solution is turning the game into a portal instance simulator.
The fix would be making the convoluted crap to open the raid less convoluted.
Well its just easier for the devs, maybe it’s a stop gap and not a final solution, but it’s better than nothing.
And I don’t think it’d be too bad, like in BFA for example, just have an NPC in the portal room in Boralus who will transport you to some of the raids. It’d be a few NPCs for hard to reach old content, its nowhere near turning the game into a portal simulator
But it isn’t it a part of the fun? To search for something, to figure it out by yourself? And if you still don’t want to do it on your own - you have wowhead and co to help you.
Some quests are difficult and almost impossible to figure it out alone, but no one forbids you to look it up.
I know i hated the DF quests because it was all highlighted and marked for you so you really dont have to think or even to read the quest. I dont like pre-chewed food and i dont like pre-solved quests.
It should not be as hard as classic, BC to Pandaria was perfect.
