Suggestion: Sync Toggle

Hi.
Y’know how you just quest in a low level zone and suddenly find yourself a measly 5 levels over the max and just one shotting everything with insane damage numbers?

Makes questing boring, just one shotting everything.

Well, I thought of an idea to fix this: Sync Toggle.

“Well golly gee, buster! What in da nine 'ells ya mean ‘Sync Toggle’?”
Well I’m glad you asked!

So in a nutshell, when I say “Sync Toggle”, I imagine a button one can press to toggle on or off. When one does toggle it on, they become “synced” to the max level of the current zone they’re in.

Example: Let’s assume you are level 35, but you wanna quest in Ashenvale. The max level for the zone is 30. So because you are 5 levels over, you just find yourself one shotting everything. No challenge at all. Personally, kinda boring.

Solution?: Click the Sync Toggle button to scale your level, gear, stats and damage down and synchronize it to be zone appropriate.

Y’know how Chromie Time allows you to scale everything UP to your level? Well basically that, but in reverse: You are scaled DOWN to zone level.

This, in my humble opinion, would be a great QOL feature for those of us who wish to be able to go through old content without it being trivialized with one shots and no real challenge.

“Why not just use Chromie Time then?”
Well the problem with Chromie Time is that it stops working after you reach max level. You’ll most certainly reach max level before you are able to go through each and every single old expansion (Yes, I’m planning to do that. Yes I may be crazy.) and when you do reach max level, you can’t Chromie your Time up to your level anymore. (Feels like a bit of an oversight on Blizz’s part, but I digress.)

As far as I know, Chromie’s selling point is essentially allowing you to go to old expansions to play through their story, which is a great feature. The scaling is an added bonus, however, it is limited, which is sad.

But with Sync Toggle it’s kinda Chromie Time on demand. If you’re too high level, one shotting everything, you just click Sync Toggle, and you deal damage appropriate to the level of the zone you’re currently in. You could also make it dynamically adjust itself from zone to zone.

Anyway, thanks for coming to my TedTalk.

Would love to hear your thoughts about this. Hopefully Blizzard takes notice too. Imo should be an easy and cool QOL feature to implement.

EDIT: Also why do Worgen not have fluffy tails? Literally unplayable, plz fix.

Yes, but as opposed to my suggestion, Chromie Time scales everything UP to you and not you DOWN to everything, and you can’t use Chromie Time forever, unfortunately. Only until you are max level, and then you can’t use Chromie for scaling anymore :C

EDIT: Also another workaround to not outlevel a zone is to eliminate xp gain, but it’s a chore to go somewhere I can port to Stormwind, go all the way to the experience eliminator, toggle the debuff, and then when I move to a zone where the max level there is 40 or example, I’ll have to go all the way back to Stormwind, re-enable xp gain, and then disable it again when I reach 40 until I finish level 40 zones, and basically it’s kind of a hassle.

Sync Toggle would just allow older content to still provide a challenge and without interrupting your questing by needing to make a whole journey to cap xp gain and re-enable it every single time.
