Yes there is a topic in Shadowlands PTR but I cannot reply or post there.
Anyway please let worgen have a tail option just like pandaren have because… that’s what makes the race playable for me. I would love to play vulpera but they are on Horde side (and I did play them but Horde doesn’t have draenei or velfs…). And the new worgen female running animation feels a bit goofy, I don’t like that. Can’t you make it more… wolfy? And maybe let the player customize the mane, because its mostly the same big bush even if you tried every hairstyle.
But more importantly, tails. Tails for worgen! Please!
Its goofy because the humanoid spine + the long limbs has to be animated properly, and not a copy-pasta from Disney cheaply made cartoons.
To fix the animation, youd need tails BINGO! The tail actually works as a steering wheel to help the spine catch momentum during swift turns.
Otherwise without a tail you will just end up needing to run like a chimp if you got a borderline ape anatomy.
+ if you notice carefully during some frames of the female worgen animation, some frames look extremely unrealistic and even painful to look at. :)))
I’ve studied animal anatomy and animation
I would wish you applied for Blizz but there was this thing about salaries a while back so that would probably be rude. You understand this better than I do. Thank you.
Art devs are severely underpaid with toxic environment in Blizzard, unfortunately
Worgen don’t want tails.
There’s a reason why blizzard have set vulpera as a race : so people who want tail got tail. In my opinion you should go on horde if you want tails like vulpera if you need tails on your character in order to play wow.
Neither tail is compatible with the worgen story.
Also confirmed by blizzard that they don’t have tails.
And for the reference in the book Christie Golden have said she had made the mistake to had tails.
Got enougth of people " oh fur ! tails ! "
Go ask human getting tails next --’
Oh no i want orc getting tails ! Because i want orc playable so let’s add them tails !
I got enought of people asking for tail for worgen. They are the race with a real story and many fan behind it. And for some reason there’s random people just because it look like a wolf " I want tails because wolf got irl tails and on some movie there’s tails on werewolf !"
No sorry but this is world of warcraft and there’s a very good story on Gilneas, the Worgen form, Goldrinn/Elune .
And also worgen is a acceptable race with respect.
I don’t want to see a race ruined in term of reputation because some random people want “TaiLS”
No tails thanks, doesn’t make sense and lore unfriendly.
Orcs can have piggy tails.
The argument “lore unfriendly” isn’t necessarily very strong, there is high elf customization on both sides… but I’m sure you can pull an explanation out of your hat for it.
And therefore… everything can be explained/reasoned with. It’s the same as “lore unfriendly”. So the lore can always be made for the purpose.
The real reason you don’t want a tail option (that means you don’t need to have a tail, yes you can be without a tail if you so wish) is that you don’t want other people to have fun.
It’s a game. And there is something wrong with your point of view if you think one fluffy tail on worgen character could ruin your game. That’s ridiculous. You just don’t want people to enjoy their tails.
Stop gatekeeping already.
Don’t want something which is already arguably in a state of being at perfection minus the lack of customisation just to appeal to people who want their generic skyrim werewolf fantasy playable in WoW thanks.
Worgen have never had tails in the game, there’s no reason to 180 on that choice. They should never 180 on that decision else you’re going to do more harm than good to a already minority race.
If the game was about fun you’d think about both sides of the coin instead of this gate keeping mentality
and as for this:
Thats what Vulpera, pandaren and Tauren/ draenei are for. As far as I’m concerned that’s more than plenty of choice for such a minor “feature”, now stop trying to ruin a race for people who actually play the race thanks
What worgen real need is more race/class choice and general customisation in skin colours and face appearances and to be brought onto par with most other non-allied race, races since their being mostly ignored and left to ride off human customisation more than the worgen customisation since its beyond lack-luster.
There’s virtually no lore regarding worgen and tails. If you can provide any, please do, but as it stands there’s no lore that goes against them not having them, just as there is no lore about them having them. They are blessed by Goldrinn and so take on aspects akin to him; why would a tail, a feature very prominent to wolves/canine in general, be the exception?

The latest Hearthstone expansion has, once again, displayed worgen with tails. It isn’t an unreasonable request, and I don’t see how giving them tails to fix their posture would make them “more furry”. They’re already walking wolfmen - they’re inherently furry enough, and a tail won’t add to that.
Seems like a weird hill to die on, if you ask me. It isn’t against the lore when there is nothing in the lore that says they cannot have tails, especially when one of the Lead Narrative Designers had herself made the mistake of giving worgen tails. They are not a wholly unique Warcraft design; they’re werewolves, for all intents and purposes, and their appearance does not in any way contrast to the appearance of any other werewolf stand-in fantasy race.
The worgen model as it stands is more gorilla - or, like said above, ape-like - because of its distorted posture and lack of realistic anatomy. A tail wouldn’t fix that, but it’d make them look a whole lot more balanced.
Worgen are, in the lore, a curse-transmitted druid form. Every other druid form takes on aspects of the creature it inhibits, including tails (both cat form, bear form, and the WoD Sabreon form). There is nothing in the lore saying a druid must knub their tail.
I don’t want tails for worgen. They’re after all based on werewolves and they don’t have tails as determined by real folklore, missing tail is what differentiates them from actual wolves, from being an animal.
“But it’s based on a druid form and the other druid forms have tails” sure, and they’re also pretty much fully animal like while the worgen form is more humanoid.
WoW has no obligation to follow folklore, or sometimes even it’s own.
One tail on someone’s character’s butt doesn’t have an impact on anyone’s life except the people who love such a feature. It doesn’t make you suicidal, it doesn’t affect your gameplay, it doesn’t nerf your class, it literally does no harm with it’s existence, you’re just denying it because you can, and you enjoy ruining someone’s day and life because that’s probably your job, so it extends into your hobby and now everyone has a bad day, and you must be oh so happy. Listen here. If I drink so much alcohol, that my brain transcends to the other side of the universe, your day-ruining negativity cannot reach me anymore. You have to admit defeat, because my happiness is superior.
If you have to revel in sadness, do it elsewhere. But not where I’m suggesting tails for worgen, because that needs to happen. You disagree, great. Now shoo. Have a good day.
I gave my personal opinion. What is with these overly aggressive responses, suicides, alcoholism and sadness.
You could’ve just said " Well I don’t agree" like a polite normal person but ok.
Yeah. Could’ve. But my fuse is short and lately all of the internet seems to disagree with me. I just don’t take that very well. So I make my point so clear it’s hilarious.
It was rather hilarious I give it that.
But you got your opinions, I got mine and that’s alright and we’ll leave that bit done there.
I do though agree on the worgen female run animation, it’s very, well not very wolfy or like needs to be more powerful.
My fix of adding tails for worgen being plausible would work “if” we dont change how the body looks like on a Worgen.
Here is an example:
-
Check Charr in Guild Wars 2, they have elongated torsos and rather short limbs which in essence allows fluid run on all fours with or without tail.
-
But adding a tail would make it look even more dynamic.
But because Worgen have a borderline ape looking anatomy (human body, human arms, human legs -except for the elongated feet) its hard to animate something like something that could run on all fours, adding a tail would help fix the issue because the anchor point of the spine could be elongated to help aliviate each frame and angle of the limbs that could be moved.
It has nothing to do with lore, but that being said, there is no lore that says that worgen cant have tails.

Ive read Curse of the Worgen, and the original worgen were just giant feral wolves on all fours and tails. The worgen we know today is just a half-way-through transformation which was decided to lack the tail.
But 3D animation wise, brought its problems with the cartoony style the model has.
It needs 3 solutions which can be chosen from and even combined:
- Make the body look more beast like, extend the torso and shorten at least the hind limbs. (Although this could make the female worgen lose its fan-service butt)
- Add tails. (See above for reason why)
- Give them completely new and improved animations. Because the ones they have got look very cheaply made.
