Suggestion - The Hero's Path - Seasonal Mode Suggestion

I feel like people end up doing everything and anything these days but there’s no longer a reason to specialize in PvP, PvE, crafting or Role play.

I get it, Blizzard is moving towards a sandbox world but I do think we need to make choices matter again and I believe having a seasonal (or even expansion long) opt in for whatever you will prefer to pursue should offer very lucrative and collectible rewards and should feel like a real immersive journey in game, not just ticking boxes. This will be locked to the account so you can’t just change characters to collect everything – basically, the selection process of your path is a deliberate choice where you forfeit the rewards of other paths but enable all characters you have to embrace a main role and path.

In comes: The Hero’s Path and the choices you can make

PvP: The Gladiator’s Path
PvE: The Dungeoneer’s Path
Crafting: The Artisan’s Path
Role Play: The Storyteller’s Path

Why is this necessary? Currently the game mainly rewards people with high-end guilds or people who buy boosts. If we locked a certain path it would mean that the gameplay is shaped around the player rather than being shaped around sellers, boosters, or high-end guilds who are capable of completing most achievements.

It would be a personal journey, a story that your account goes on with you. It’s an important choice and it means you are defined by it, but not limited to it. This would mean we get certain perks in-game but most importantly, it rewards participation over arbitrary ratings that we currently see e.g. 1800 rating for pvp set, 3k for mythic, etc

Every player is important in their own unique way, this is something I learned when I played vanilla for the first time a very long time ago back in 2005. It’s a shame we only started rewarding the 1% and not the people who support the game by continuously playing it and playing it in their own unique way.

It should matter that you have played PvP for 99% of your game time vs. the guy who gets everything because he bought from a boost at the end. That said, it’s not necessarily about rewards, it’s also about shaping how you game. It would be nice to see people who are specialists at certain elements on the game and The Hero’s Path can foster that growth.

It also means getting things like weekly perks, events, etc, in your chosen path. Think airdrops for PvP where you get special tools, fun weapons, or tactical elements for your battlegrounds, world PvP or arena. Again, why does the game still force people to engage with the main storyline, especially in the case of PvP or roleplayers where they would rather be doing their own thing.

Roleplayers would get physical storytelling elements that can be used in game and can interact with NPC’s on a deeper level to enhance engagement. Perhaps they could even get battleground style instanced areas that they could create battles in or role playing quests etc.

The game has infinite possibilities but it’s not catering to them properly. Let’s make The Hero’s Path a thing!
