I would want to start out that Broken Tooth with classic-classic setting is ok! 7-8h spawn in server. Rare pet is supposed to be rare, I get it.
Problem comes in with SoD and layers. Every layer has their own spawn window, hard to follow or ask fellow hunters, in discord for example, when was last one tamed/killed/seen killed. Even bigger problem comes with layers themselfs… I was afk, just standing in shadowmeld and I saw myself changing layer. I was afk for 2 hours. I cannot consistently wait for Broken Tooth when game decides to throw me into another layer and there’s no good way to jump back or stay on my own layer. If you get into high number layer like Layer 6, your layer can also get destroyed after players go sleep and server decides there shouldn’t be that many layers.
My suggestions as options:
Option 1: Do not change anything with layers and lower Broken Tooth spawn to 1h. It would fit with leveling exp boost and other stuff. It’s stupid to spend hours and hours to get single pet on seasonal server especially when experimenting is encouraged.
Option 2: Let yourself choose layer. Imo this option is valid but can lead into problems with other content but it would fix Broken Tooth situation.
Option 3: Make it that it doesn’t destroy layer or force-move you to another one. If you want to spend hours and hours in 1 layer to have some sort of consistency, it should be allowed to be farmed like it was back in vanilla.
I would say that it is not alright to make thing on seasonal server even worse! Especially something as important as Broken Tooth. Would be good if some changes were made. <3
