Summon bot spamming in lfg

It’s insane. You have to spent the first 10 minutes when joining LFG reporting these bots spamming all through the day. On my server the spam bots outnumber actual looking for group messages by 3:1.

The community found a way to get farmed by bots by buying gold and giving it back to them for summons. Can we please have someone step in and ban them?

I find it funny how everything you have named is a direct consequence of vanilla fans imposing silly artificial inconveniences on themselves. Look:

This one is because there’s no built-in tool to look for groups or sort the chat. Next:

This is because there are no summoning stones.

And if Blizzard had a single GM per server the bot spam would be gone in day (not really as they would still do ban waves)

Players would advertise it regardless, also it’s a total mess even if you do not take bots into account. I have it sorted with an addon and portal services comprise a small % of all messages

If blizzard would activate meeting stones to be summon stones, and also add 1 extra flight point to every zone, then summon selling bots would starve.

I caved at some point and started ignoring the bots in stead of reporting them every single time I joined LFG.

I had to download an addon for more ignore slots and I havent ignored a single thing other than bot summon spammers… It’s wild.

And to all the hypocrites if you would stop buying gold and using bot summons bots would go away. People like Xicht guy.

If you want to remove the bots then blizzard can implement 1 place with many portals. You also have an item with 5 min CD that teleports you to this potal place. Using one of these portals costs lets say between 1-5g and there you go, all of the warlocks and spams are gone and everyone can get access to these portals for a cheaper rate.

Or just add speedflight/teleport at every windrinder that costs extra, easily solves

Not sure what you are trying to say here, but i never bought gold and never even thought about it. I enjoy making my own gold.
I also never sold any summon services in public channels and did ofc never use any bot for anything.
And also i bought summon services maybe 5 times in the last 8 months, and that is below average i assume and it was payed with my hard and fair earned gold.
And another 3 times where the raid leader paid one summoner to get the raid faster to the entrance… was not my own fault in these cases.

My statement that more flightpoints and dungeon summon stones would help to starve the summon sellers was not meant like “oh it is Blizzards fault and as long they don’t intervene i am glad that these summon bots exist!”
It was more like a serious suggestion to solve the issue.

It’s naive to think that adding services of slight convinces will put bots out of service.

It’s the same with the gold buying. Until the people doing the gold buying or supporting summon bots stop doing so it wont stop. And they won’t as they have been doing it for years. So until they are targeted by bans in significant numbers it won’t end.

The thing about that is more than 50% of the classic wow playerbase buys gold. As such I would settle for chat bans for the bots if they spam lfg at least.

Lucky guy being able to buy summons - on CS EU Alliance there are no summoners anymore.
