Please add “dismiss pet” to the portrait for the vanity pets. This used to be a thing before they added them all to the collections tab. Now I gotta search through a bunch of random pets just to find the one I want to dismiss ==
Also, remove the stupid “auto-summon” when placing a pet into slot one in the battle system. Just coz I want to train something, doesn’t mean I want it bugging me in-game all day ==

These are sensible suggestions.
Most of us use the addon Rematch to manage our pets, though, and Rematch takes care of them for us.
With Rematch:
Dismiss current pet is a button on the UI frame for pets.
There is a setting to always keep the same companion aftre changing team, and if you had no summoned pet before changing, Rematch will ensure you have no summoned pet after.
