Where did this mount come from?
Obviously I know…the store, but it seems so random.
Every other mount I can work out what expansion it is taken from or what mob it is based on. The only random ones are the Chinese New Year mounts.
Except the kitty cat!
So what expansion was this mount taken from? or is it just some random developer who loves cats!

Are they always “taken from somewhere” though? Maybe it’s the other way around; the silverian(?) dreamer dragon and blue fox models were in the store long before they were NPCs, so seemed they just used something they’d already made for the store and tweaked it for the game there. Could be the same for the cat, made for store and eventually gets used as NPC.
A lot of people like cats. So… They made something that sold like hot cakes.
Nothing more.
Or… If you want to get all ‘conspiracy theory’ about it; maybe whatever they had planned was scrapped when Danuser was bonjoured out in favour of Metzen.
My guess has been it was a cosy counter to the state of the world at the time with the pandemic and lockdowns and what not, and SL being quite depressing to go in tandem with that. Something fuzzy, and purry, and uplifting amidst all the dread and despair. I could be wrong entirely of course!

But they were made store mounts whilst those expansions were being worked on. You often find they will drop a store mount of an in game model they are currently working on… it can give you abit of a hint as to what is coming.
The cat came and went out of nowhere!

The only random one is invincible. You never know when you get it.
