The level 45 talent super nova for arcane mages seems to not be working? it says:
Pulses arcane energy around the target enemy or ally, dealing (30% of Spell power) Arcane damage to all enemies within 8 yards, and knocking them upward. A primary enemy target will take 100% increased damage.
However, during testing there is no increased damage at all after the knock up, and no indicator showing how long it will last or if its permanent? I just like some clarification on the spell at the very least if this is intended behavior.
The extra damage is part of the initial hit - your primary target takes twice the damage (100% extra) whilst everything around it only takes the regular hit.
Main target takes 1774 damage, secondary targets take 887 damage at my currect gear level.
Not that it really matters anymore since it hits the primary target for slightly more damage than a single Arcane Explosion and secondary targets for half of that, despite being on a 25 second CD in a damage talent row…
Aside from the knock-up effect, there’s never a reason to use it, since Arcane Orb deals 4x the damage with 5 seconds less cooldown and it generates Arcane Charges.
From the WoD pre-patch up till the BFA pre-patch, Blast Wave, Ice Nova and Supernova were super powerful instant damage nukes and they were amazing, but they’ve been nerfed into pathetic CC abilities that are rarely used nowadays.
ooh, I misunderstood how it worked then… I thought the target would take 100% more damage for X amount of seconds after it was used, therefore being mad it didn’t do anymore damage, I thought they just skipped some words in the tooltip
