give yourself a pat on the back
I read your opinion fine the first time. You feel it holds value. Understandably some players do. Nobody is disputing that.
Every time Blizz adds TCG back into the game there is the same outcry. I imagine anyone who has spent thousands on TCG mounts would be.
This applies to all aspects of life. Does that mean we should cease all marketing efforts? Certainly not.
Absolutely youāre right. However, one argument back in the day for why it was okay that WoW had such a high upfront price and a running subscription, was so that we wouldnāt have any of these kinds of marketing schemes and other undesirable business aspects of the ālesser gamesā. We paid premium money for the premium experience.
So this (and everything else Blizzard have done for a long time now) just feels more and more infuriating.
The greed is palpable and my tolerance for it is diminishing rapidly.
Would rather they worked on new stuff instead of just being lazy and giving away everything that had any meaning for free. it cheapens the game, anything u worked hard on today or yesterday will be given away for free in the future, so why would i take time to work on anything hard on the game now when i can get it free with no effort in the future
This is the same cyclical outrage that happens when Blizzard comes up with this stuff. It happened back in the day with the store, with the Twitch drops, now itās a couple of subs.
P.S.: The mount is ugly. Will probably get it anyway
Do you believe theyāre not working on new things currently? Itās the marketing team thatās organizing this event, not the developers or artists.
Maybe you should read both my comment and the one i replayed to before, you miss my point even more
If sufficient time has passed I donāt think it matters. But everyone feels differently.
Same as when the rocket farm was changed from needing a massive army of alts to run through daily during the event to stand the smallest of chances of getting the actual love rocket (now renamed something else). I got mine under the old system but I welcome them making it easier for players now. Some were upset because it was such a gruelling farm for them.
I got the Zhevra mount back in the day via RAF, it was added to the Trading post as was the original store mount the sparklepony. I donāt feel this devalues my mount or collection in anyway. Iām pleased they are bringing back old models to the game.
They are all +1s for the collection.
Fix the horse first, you sit on itās neck not in the saddleā¦
i appreciate your and murous effort but i feel it is wasted energy. the people youāre both arguing against are not hunters that get satisfaction from achieving or earning something meaningfull, more like impulsive herders who want their collection of cattle to be as big as possible even tho they cannot really appreciate it anymore due to sheer size.
it clearly is time to move on from tcg items being special. blizzard seems to want it that way. maybe they actually want to destroy the 3rd market. but I guess they are more likely to just know the value and use it to drive up twitch engagement, making the new expansion waves as big as possible, regardless of how short-sighted and fleeting this is. either way, hunter-collectors will be the sad collateral.
canāt wait for the sentiment to change, just as it did with the fel drake when excitement turned into indifference once people realized their desired mount is actually just an outdated low-res mesh and the allure of having something that rare made up 90% of the whole thing. now nobody talks about it. nobody rides it. not even with skyriding.
reduced to a number, drowned by other ājust another mount for the countā.
just. wasted.
Indeed and those things are something Iām more excited for. Ofc they donāt necessarily involve a quest line either.
The artist time has been and gone for the TCG mount, Iām not aware of any of them getting a revamp.
Meh, gorm mount is pretty cool but other than that everything else is a reskin. I wish they added fewer but cool mounts instead of this cheap way to keep people playing by adding 90 reskins of the same mounts weāve already had for years.
Thatās how most things are. Wanting stuff is usually better than having it. In a sense all materialism is an illusion and people at some point realise what they bought was, in its own way, a crappy low res WoW mount.
Why not all of the above?
There are mounts I can purchase from the store
There are mounts I can do long and difficult achievements for
There are mounts I can mindlessly grind with 0 difficulty (as in legacy raids)
There are mounts that are rewards from questchains
Andā¦ there are mounts that require me to watch a twitch-stream for 4 hours.
I donāt mind that model.
I would welcome the ability to get that tiger via a promotional offer.
It is currently obtainable by swiping your creditcard. Leaving a twitch-stream on mute isnāt much harder - just cheaper.
People like to match their mogs I guess. No clue. But we do get a lot of colour variations.
Iām most excited for the Lynx but I donāt really want to hijack this Twitch drop thing.
My bad!
Back in my day, I am old so I can say that now, if you had ashes of alar, you were super cool. It had bonus speed, was rare, cool, unique. Make this game a proper rpg again instead of this collect 9000 reskins āesportā clown fiesta.
tahnk you
On the other hand even the original races all had three or four colours of their mount per speed type.
However I think it was WoD that started the larger recolour collections but I could be wrong.
true but who even had gold to buy all of them back in a day. idk most of the things just seem meaningless in modern wow which is a shame because class gameplay is the best itās ever been
