You cant balance a game around the majority of the game because the majority sucks at the game.
It also doesnt make sense overall since this people dont play at a lvl that balance matter or can be grasp by the people.
So yes every game should be balanced around the top.
Peter that does only question, Otto that only plays for story and Tina that only collects pets and mounts wont even feel any changes in terms of dmg buffs or nerfs to their gameplay.
Not relevant to the point at hand. Lots of people do M+, they can still do their 15 / 17 / 20 / 22 perfectly fine without aug. You watching stream and seeing (and parroting) what people doing bleeding edge content do comes as no surprise.
Sadly yes, it was in an interview after Blizzcon, it was along the lines ‘‘We dont have any plans to add more support specs’’ when they got asked.
I also think that the only way to balance this would be to add other support specs, otherwise they need to redesign Aug… till than it needs to be nerfed to the ground.
Yep that’s pretty much my concern too. In that case it’s quite realistic they’ll overhaul aug entirely and not touch on support specs again I think, while the issue isn’t so much having a support spec but the lack of alternative support specs. Maybe it’d still create too many balancing issues even in that scenario, they may have concluded as much.
Yes it is relevant, because thats exactly the point, everyone can do 15-20+ without a problem. The balance there doesnt matter. In shadowlands I carried 2 other dps through 15+ keys with a tank friend of mine (they did less dmg than the tank, and only a small fraction of mine), thats how little balance matter in low lvls of gaming.
But you know where you feel it? In higher keys, where the difference between certain specs is so big that you can easily go 3 keys higher than the classes below.
So it does not make sense to balance for people that dont understand the game or their classes.
Nah the problem is, they are not just flat out balanceable.
Other specs yes you could balance them on multiple specs with one being hard to play and hard reward in damage and other one with easy to play and still solid damage.
Meanwhile Evoker is depending on how other players play. If they are good their support is rewarded, if they are bad then no matter how good the support is the evoker is also bad.
The alternative would be making the evoker be balanced about bad players so that an evoker could make even a bad group solid and a good group feeling like Nexuschampions.
Personally I never understood why the plan is about the evoker bringing only arround as much damage thanks to their support as just another DD.
On low niveau it is all about if you could play together and on high niveau it is all about utility and getting every last percent.
So from my opinion the problem is not that you can only do Evoker as Useless or To be needed but setting the bar of requirements too high.
Instead of setting the bar so high they should instead rework gameplay and achievments about that it has a fixed bar to reach and everything beyond it is only for digital tail comparisons.
So for M+ I would only do the title and gear from about Reaching either 15 or 20+ and everything beyond is just bragging rights and Mythic raiding should only be about shoulder clap and getting achievments so you could say you did this which actually is not interessting for 99%.
i don’t think it’s a mistake but having one support spec is definitely a mistake and the bad part is they don’t talk about adding another one … it’s so vague right now
