Survival Hunter - weapon speed vs top end dmg on weapon

Quick question

As survival for my weapon what is best faster weapon with higher attack speed but lower top end dmg or a slower weapon with higher top end dmg but less dps ? or does it not matter at all ?

Looking at Retail wow here to clarify.

The one with the higher itemlevel/best secondary stats.

All weapons have same speed on retail
