I mean, seriously, 40% damage reduction for 6s or 20% for 8s? I heave nearly all classess (not at max level I admit) but Im 95% sure that this ability is the weakest defensive cd in the game.
Shammy have 40% reduction for 12s. Evoker have 2x 30% reduction for 12s each. Disci priest have 40% for 8s with 12% max health heal and 50% reduction with other cd and so on an so forth. And most of the time these classess have also other very good defensive stuff. A lot of times in the bgs I feel like opponents can just outsustain me with their sustain/defensive abilities.

An actual “defensive” is just part of a toolkit. You also have an immunity, knockback, can dispel beneficial effects from opposing players to reduce their damage, trap them, stun them.
You’re looking at one ability in isolation and saying “some have bigger numbers / longer duration / shorter cooldown” questionmark.
You also forget Survival Tactics and even Interlope pvp talent has quite an interesting plays. Roar of Sacrifice, hello?
You can also spec tenacity pet to get Fortitude of the Bear, which is basically an Emblem trinket. It is worth losing master’s call in some options, imho.
Even with all these, I do agree hunter is on the weaker side of defensives, especially since craven is no longer a thing, non magical dots really hurt us.
But we are not supposed to be tanky, we are supposed to be slippery.
Hmm… maybe you guys are right. Im just used to tankier classess, thats my playstyle mostly I can also use better items to make me more survivable. Thx for advices.
I think they are not in good condition in that way, too. But it doesnt decline that hunters survability vs anything is sht now and turtle is the worst imminity in the game + no sustain at all while all classes have much bigger healing possibilities now (dk is nerfed for 1 day so I dont count it cause I dont know situation with them yet. Nerf was hard and they may be bad in that way now, too)
