Swap covenant or send anima to alt?

Right so, what’s better for farming stuff swapping covenant or just funneling anima into another alt and unlocking stuff that way?

I think I saw an item on the guy by the Flight Master where you can buy an Item for 1000 anima which gives you… 1000 anima. It’s BoA… so I guess that’s what you are looking for.

P.S. Your Avatar looks really angry!

Buy 1k item(s) as required and 40 renown item.

Go swap. Do short questline.

Fill reservoir to level wanted (yoou dont need to be as reservoir to learn new items)

Buy tmog

NEW right click tmog items to use and learn them.

Play on multiple alts to get the time-efficient anima drops (500 anima 9.0 WQs, WB etc), send it all to your intended character, profit.

Also looks like replenish the reservoir quest is up when you change even if done on character already (on a different covenant)

I just realised…

Could you use the exact same 1k anima & throw it around from alt to alt to complete that weekly quest ?

Do I need to re-do kortgia story if I swap? Or just campaign?

No it doesn’t count when you use the item, you have to ‘loot’ 1K but that takes five minutes in Korthia.

swapping covenant and trying to unlock mogs just shows how convoluted this whole mess is…

Edit : I just can’t bloody read isn’t it. No you don’t have to redo Korthia, but You’ll be able to do the 9.0 covenant storyline if you didn’t do it already on that char. You’ll still get the progression part instantly

It’s now skippable altho the 2nd half requires the 9.0 covenant campaign which is no longer skippable.

THAT SAID, you don’t need to do the 9.0 campaign for any of the progression stuff (renown, soulbinds etc) as they are given freely. And you don’t need the 9.1 campaign for anything beside a maw WQ.

It’s only an issue if you want the 9.0 sets, in which case you’ll need to do the campaign on your alts to obtain them. Otherwise you can ignore it and send alts to Korthia very quickly. And the korthia grind was basically halved with the recent changes

Idk but it would’ve been awfully convenient to let’s say farm 1k anima and use it for 50 alts. Or just rely on 1k anima farmed in week 1 that you would pass back & forth between alts all year long.

An obvious oversight sure but awfully convenient.

Its even more complicated than that :stuck_out_tongue:

I need coffee first, I cant comprehend half of it

Offerings now the limiter but got 10 in my Calling so they will stack up quite quickly now.

Need to check if I can do Grateful Offering quests on more than one covenant - that would speed things up. - anyone else beat me to it?

basically if you unlocked a mog from a covenant on an alt, if you swap to that covenant you’ll get that mog shared and you can use it, but only as long as you are on that covenant, if you swap back you lose that mog.
if you instead swap a character who individually unlocked a mog from a covenant out of that covenant you can keep the mog.
so basically if you want to be able to freely use a mog even outside of a covenant you’ll still need to buy all the pieces on each character specifically.
this as far as i understood it in my few minutes of testing.
and as far as i understand we can’t skip the campaign story right? so to unlock the mogs from the vendors we still need to re-do the campaigns all over again right?

edit: some mogs seem to be kept if you change covenant even if you didn’t unlock it on that specific character, others don’t.

IF you swap to a covenant you haven’t tried yet :

  • You’ll get soulbinds for free & campaign is no longer tied to renown.
  • You won’t be able to skip the 9.0 campaign
  • You won’t have to redo the 9.1 campaign if you already did it on your character.

IF you’re playing on a fresh alt :

  • You’ll get all the power from covenants for free
  • You can’t skip the 9.0 campaign, and you’ll need it for cosmetics
  • You can skip the 9.1 intro & start getting relics etc
  • You can skip the entire 9.1 campaign if you did the 9.0 campaign (as it introduces the 9.1 characters)

I’m still lost.
I want to switch my venthyr rogue to Kyrian. I already have a kyrian mage who has completed all quests. What will happen for me ?

You will have to re-do campaign but cosmetics uve unlocked will stay

Do offerings also reset if you switch a covenant or do they stay? I know anima is gone :frowning:

Anima is not ‘gone’ use the token to transfer it (it is a silly system , having to mail tokens to alts - would be easier to just make it account wide - which it is now in truth, but you have to remember to ‘buy’, send and use the tokens. )

You have to wonder what was in the mind of the person designing this system… is it an ‘immersion’ thing’ idk.

Offerings stay with you on the character when you swap.

depends on the stuff.
the death’s advance 60 renown mog still requires exalted, so it’s easier to swap covenant on your main ( assuming your main is exalted and your alts are not) and grind those 20 renown.
to unlock for your main, an armor specific mog from a covenant, if you don’t have alts with that armor type in that covenant already, it’s easier to swap covenant on main.

Right I swapped covenant on my main, and it worked nicely, also found a few good ways to farm anima quickly.

so far so good
