Swapped from caster to melee

Thank you!

Its because i have always had a preference in games to play ranged roles. So i naturally went towards them in wow too.
And one thing i cant stand is waiting on energy regeneration. And at low levels (perhaps even high for other classes, i dunno) melee suffer from this big time.

I know energy regen isnt that different from waiting for a cast, but when casting you feel like an active participant. With waiting i just feel afk.

So normally i just give up on levelling them.

Not sure why i carried on levelling my alt monk.
Took a few months as id do like a few quests now and then, but eventually it just clicked for me.

I was hitting lots of buttons, little to no downtime, zooming all over the map with serpent kick, and rolling out of danger.
And because of the mastery, no hitting the same button twice in a row so youre always somewhat engaged.

Its great!

Yes!
I didnt realise how bad my warlock had it until i did my first dungeon as windwalker.

No waiting around, no trying to keep up.
Youre just there happily crane kicking away as the tank runs along.

It was night and day levels of different!

Fury is a weird one, its really easy rotation wise but i think currently has the highest APM requirement making it hard for some people to play.

Time to play the coolest most enjoyable ranged spec, fire mage.

Did u change ur warlocks name? :open_mouth: u has the same name.

Think its more just taxing on the fingers, i know quite a few who hands just ache :joy::joy:

I did yeah
I thought i would take advantage of the services sale going on and keep my name on my new main

Monks are fun. But you went from a very immobile class to a very mobile one. There are casters more mobile than lock, for sure. You shouldn’t be struggling to keep up with your tank.

Ive done some lfr now and melee is still easier.
Just glue to their behind and nothing can go wrong

Of course on harder difficulties this could be far from the truth. But im not affected by that.

Monk rules!

Congrats you finally become grown man.

Yeah, i have a warlock alt, and running dungeons (Especially TW) on a warlock is downright painful, i don’t feel like i’m contributing at all, since the mobs pop like balloons at a cactus farm before i even get a single cast off… (Let alone a “Hand of Gul’dan” to get some more imps)

I figure it’s the same for any class with ramp-up time, though.

Ive tried my hand at tanking now, for the first time ever, and it was pretty fun just rounding up enemies and throwing kegs at them before setting them alight

Overall my preference is going to melee too. I rerolled resto shaman to hpala very fast in season 1 in DF. It was swirly dodge-season… i am really wondering how some bosses were healable with so much movement. And then thundering on top… anyway; that abomination is gone :tada:

Melee in general is easier.

Welcome to the easy life. Keep rolling on!

Melee is so fun that I only play survival on my hunter

Melee has less to worry about (Frontal cone attacks are easier to get out of when up close as well), but the one thing about melee i like is the immediacy, i press the button for an attack and it happens, not first fill up a cast-bar that might be interrupted by having to move, and with current boss designs, we have to move a lot…

Dungeons as ranged just takes some getting used to the tank, it took me a long time to learn that i was losing dps by working at 30+ yards, because of all the failed casts due to tank running off to fkn Africa for no reason.
