1)People somehow keep forgetting it can backfire pretty wildly.
2)People have 1500 hp and complain to be 2shotted.
Once the opponent has 2500+ hp the scenario is different.
Hm, Im currently at 2100 hp in cat form and looking at sixtyuogrades, even with FULL stamina enchants and full BIS phase 2 gear I will be sitting on 2350hp.
I get mind blasted for 750 and SWD for 800-1000 noncrit every day rn. If it crits with a few stacks from dots, thats very close to 60-65% of my hp is bis gear from just SWD. If he casts mind blast noncrit as well, Im literally 100-0 in 1.5 sec+an instant cast hitting same global.

Many classes cant reach even close to 2500 hp even in bis with full stamina enchants. My feral fx will have 23-2400 buffed. Taking 500-750 mind blast hits and 750-1000 SWD is not okay bro. And your dots do what, 1500+ dmg over the duration? U can literally do 60% of a full bis players hp with mind blast+swd noncrit.
And SP was already strong in vanilla. Now you have absurd burst and the strongest defensive cd in the entire game on just 2 min CD. Plus fear and silence.

Seems to me that all these tears on the forums about Shadowpriests are clueless.
Yes, Shadowpriests have an ability on a 12 second cooldown, that can crit for maybe 1200-1400 (around 6-8% crit chance btw) which, if it DOESNT kill you, the priest then takes 600-700 in return.
Most people (except for mages and casters in -stam gear from raid) have over 2k HP… even 2.4k if were being generous including stam buff.
So an instant cast ability that technically can ‘realiably’ kill someone from 30% HP… and I said, reliably because its literally a 6-8% crit chance and everyone is losing their minds.
Yet, catch a priest without fear (or if you can immune it like undead, ferals, shamans, warriors) or dispurse. Melee literally smash them into the ground like they were nothing.

Mate I agree it should be tuned. But you cant be revolving everything around one aspect of the game. Yes its lethal in group pvp events (but so is mage…). But in 1v1, especially against melee and high hp targets, you still need to use it carefuly.
Not talking about the fact, that SWD with VE doesnt heal you as you say. Srsly try it. First it does dmg to target, which heals you, then it does dmg to you, which kills you.
Now with this on mind I still agree with some dmg reduction.
Well, for all melee classes that complain about broken abilities, it is what it is. Your role has changed from ‘I go in and wreck someone’ to ‘I stay back and defend my carry casters.’ It is what it is. Shadow Word: Death is broken—yup, remove it or nerf it. DoTs still kill you, so whatever. Ninety percent of the complaints are due to skill issues.
