Swiftmane Zebra lvl 21 rare, followed and killed me in Ratchet

Hi there Forums.

Today me and 2 other friends encountered the mob calld: “Swiftmane”, its a lvl 21 elite Zebra in The Barrens. We accidently aggroed him, we all took aggro off eachother and started running since he hit hard and runs fast. But eventually i had aggro, (i wasnt the one who tagged him). I kept spamming guages and even tho i was only lvl 14 i got 4 guages in a row, i kited him ALL THE WAY down to Ratchet with guages and sprint etc, while my friends did freezes and heals, eventually he killed me and just despawned in Ratchet. He didnt even bother to keep attacking the other 2 people who attacked him. Its a very far distance, i feel like this mob is bugged. I understand you wont restore my death but atleast fix the freaking game…

Little known fact.

Equines are carnivores.

It kept following you, because you kept attacking it.

Makes sense, but only way to survive was to keep guage:ing him. However, is it really intended for the mob to follow 3 people and be kited for several minutes all the way to Ratchet before evading???

In vanilla that is how it works .
Also if you have a pet attacking , it will constantly switch between you and the pet and it will never despawn . Its is called kiting .
Here is something that got kited to Stormwind

Yes but Blizzard said they would fix theese sorts of kiting things in Classic to remove griefs etc, thats why im making this post.

From the official rules :

DANGER LEASHED

Most creatures will leash and reset when leaving the area or zone they were engaged in.

As much as we enjoyed frequent visits from Teremus the Devourer in Stormwind or wandering Devilsaurs in Thousand Needles, being able to drag or “kite” high-level monsters to lower-level areas is a large vector for gameplay disruption and something that doesn’t have a place in WoW Classic Hardcore. The total range that monsters can be pulled is currently fairly large but can easily be adjusted. We’ll be watching for feedback on this implementation from those participating in the PTR. The goal is to prevent high-level players from kiting dangerous monsters across entire zones, but we don’t want to interfere with legitimate gameplay, such as Hunters kiting elite monsters to solo difficult quests and similar expressions of skill.

The zebra spawns next to Ratchet , so kiting it there should have been no problem . Kiting it in Durotar on the other hand might have reset it .

So somehow you decided to attack a level 21 yellow elite at level 14 and died and now Blizzard should fix their “stupid bugs”.

What I am really curios, what whas your Ratchet reputation?

I feel stupid; what is this you did to him? maybe just spello, but I can’t guess it, sorry.

That wasnt the question but yeah keep being toxic :stuck_out_tongue:

The leash is not to prevent players dying if they attack the wrong mob, it’s to prevent people kiting high level mobs to low level areas and create havoc. Kiting is still a necessary tactic to kill powerful mobs for those who have the means. I can’t believe you play hardcore and decide to attack elite mobs 7 level above you and then ask for “fixing the freaking game” when you die.

Gouge
Rogue ability that incapacitates the target for 4 seconds.

Thanks - I tried googling to no avail, found lots misspelled gauges = meaningless. Sometimes misspelling just gets me :frowning:

Again, you are just toxic. Hope you feel better now haha. I personally didnt pull the mob, one of the 2 others in my group did, he was doing zebra drop quest, and kinda just farmed zebras, then he came out of nowwhere, (he looks like a normal zebra). So it was a misstake to begin with, and i died because i took aggro and saved the other guys.

i died to two neutral owls in Teldrassil. they didnt stop attacking and follow me. i know that they follow you when you hit them but i didnt.
i attacked the first and the 2nd aggroed, then i ran away but they just keep following me ( hadnt thorns on me ).
played a lot of HC but that never happend to me. glady only level 8

He runs very fast, hence the name. I thought it was neutral until you engage it.

Really? xD. If u have thorns you are hitting the mobs.

Simply not true, thorns does NOT refresh leash. Played druid for 20 years on and off, thorns has never been a problem.

Oh thx, i thought yes
