‘‘The majority of gear upgrades will be offered through weekly mission rewards or by trading in reward gear to purchase an upgrade.’’
As a PvP-player I already have that system in WoW, I think its superior
(merchant and upgrades)
However starting fresh character is interfering with the awfull vault system
I had a blast with SWTOR the first 6 months after release then the content draught killed most of the community. It had so much potential. Glad to see they are still supporting it.
hmm have not played SWTOR since its first year of launch at the time i was poor and couldnt afford the sub anymore so had to quit playing… i planned to go back but never did in the end…
I tried SWTOR at launch… and left about 6-8 months later because it didn’t make me feel like a jedi.
I mean really, I just murdered my way to level cap. As the stealthy jedi class that did not need to be doing all that killing.
That said, if they’ve renovated the game, I could be tempted to give it another look. If I can persuade any of my social cloud to do so as well… the real problem in getting away from WoW is that all my gaming buddies are here and I’m too old and tired to start again
Both games have too many different design philosophies to just copy-paste systems from one to the other. I play and enjoy both games. TOR is my main sci-fi MMORPG, WoW the main fantasy one.
(Long story) I had basically quit at the back end of Cata; my Wrath guild was a memory, my Cata guild were actually really good people, but I was exhausted by the game in general. Main tanking wasn’t helping. I needed a break. I dabbled in WoD at the insistence of a friend, but couldn’t maintain interest because Draenor!
In 8.0 I was persuaded to try again with some of the old Wrath crew… we didn’t even start. Our tanks both quit before we had our first raid. The rest of us tried hard to settle with another guild - again, good people, but progress was slow, and then none. My friends left, for multiple guilds, and feeling isolated, I quit the game before 8.1, and returned a few weeks before 8.2, because I’d never quite left forums and had noticed the emergence of a friendly/casual raiding community on Alliance (where I had always felt more at home). Within a few weeks, I’d approached one of the people who led those raids and asked for a social spot.
Then one day I noticed that there was a calendar entry for the wednesday raid and signed up on a whim. About 6 months later they realised I’d never been given raider rank, but had been there every day there was a raid and finally promoted me without trial
By this point, I had accidentally made new friends. But holy crap, the idea of setting out with that goal is daunting AF… I don’t think I could do it on purpose. So much of the last 3 years has been happy accidents
yeah, its not easy to make new friends in mmorpgs now, not as easy as it used to be for sure.
i met a couple good people when classic was new… people of similar goals and casual attitude as myself… but that was the last time i come across people of that kind in mmorpgs…
it all became raid focused and key pushing… people i tend to not really get on with …
so i kept solo and didnt make effort with people i came across… eventually started realising how the game just isnt enjoyable as a casual anymore and eventually quit.
My only advice is to aim for people who play for the experience of playing. They’ll stick around whatever your progress… and you will eventually progress
I was a big big name in the Red Eclipse once Big spammer in the General chat on the Fleet. Master Kaloian - Jedi Guardian.
SWTOR is my main game cuz Im a huge Star Wars fan. I bought a Lightsaber a few months ago. I have mandalorian helmet too.
SWTOR was my main game… but my video card died and now Im using my 2nd Intel lazy one. I only can play WoW with it. Thats why Im stuck in here till my laptop burn out and I buy a new one.
I play WoW and I think all about Star Wars. Im trying to recreate SW characters into WoW.
I farmed hard the title “Master of the Ways” just to use it with my Jedi character. “Jedi, Master of the Ways” looks cool.
Euhm I played.from launch and honestly the game is top star wars.dont.know what you need to feel like a jedi but the story and combat animations where freaking good on my sage.
