Sylvanas is so powerful

With her powers why could not she just kill everyone along with Saurfang and just ran away instead?

That’s a part of those illogical aspects about her. She could have solo defended Orgrimmar while all the horde sit back eating popcorn, watching it.

She solod the lich king army and the lich king and only had to fire a couple of arrows to do it.

Severely over powered yet severely illogical.

Because of quality story-telling we are not supposed to question.

She is powerful. But when she killed suarfang, it was during Makgora. And she run right after.

During Makgora, she was ensured 1 on 1 duel with suarfang. She couldnt take everyone. Not the entirety of horde, alliance nad their leaders at once.

I know that due to her new cgi cinematic her vs Bolvar, it is easy to forget others.
But in front of orgrimmar, there was duaghet of the sea, powerful archmage who SURVIVED player raid, who conjureees ghsotships and neutralize the plague with frost nova.
There was anduin, the prodigious plot armored child, who ressurects entire armies with combat ress.
There was green jesus, who is still alive despite throwing away his doomhammer and literally asking his enemies AND friends to stab him for like 12 years now.
There was also Lorthemar, who begun contemplating that maybe he should start doing something…
Also Thalysra, who is no longer addict and now considering to maybe get along with other half of adventurers who saved her city after two years…

While Sylvie the angry emo queen might be powerful comic element of the game, all other figures banded together forming much powerful circus!

I have often defended Blizz story telling but for me this is just so ridiculous. I get her powers have increased because of her pact or agreement with Halya or whoever. But this is just silly. She might as well just walk through the gates of Stormwind.

The only reason I can see why she doesn’t is she must still be weak against the Light. We haven’t seen her go toe to toe with someone very powerful in the Holy Light.

And as I keep repeating:
Tyrande, as the literal avatar of a goddess, wasn’t even allowed to kill Nathanos.

Silliness swings both ways.

She could go on a killing rampage killing every hero, soldiers, citizens of orgrimmar and sw and she wouldnt even run out of magical “chain arrows”

how to ruin a games lore

I really don’t get why this is so confusing to lots of People. You could have probably put Sylvanas against a freaking Dragon Aspect and she still would have won and rightfully so too.

She uses death/shadow magic, something no one knows anything about but it surely seems powerful enough to kill just about anything with ease. This probably won’t make any sense to you until the moment we actually learn more about it.

It makes sense for Sylvanas to be this strong

Haha, I love it actually!

Sylvannas so powerful, yes she is. Fuelled by ‘Anima’ (death energy) her benefactor needs this to give her the power.
Going around killing the populace of Azeroth would not work as she would ‘burn’ too much anima (an energy loss). She just creates the discord to create war and death so her boss gets it for free.

But those kinds of things explain a lot. Likewise we know that current writer does like sylvanas a lot and is good friends with the voice actor - there may be (and this is just my loose throw of words) intentional or unintentional insertion of personal likes and dislikes beyond what company would have requested.

Guess it depends on perspective.

The way Sylvannas described The Horde and The Alliance (“NOTHING!”, “Tin soldiers…”) it sounds as if she doesn’t regard either as meaningful or vital to her objective. We’re ants who scurry around on the ground, oblivious to the bigger forces at play in the universe.
Killing us is as pointless as you stomping ants in your backyard in an attempt to create world peace.

Sylvannas apparently needed souls for her plan, which she got through the faction war. Now that she’s done with that, she moves on with her plan.

She’s like Arthas in a way. She’s so driven, confident, and independent. Like Arthas would bulldoze through all of Quel’Thalas just to resurrect Kel’Thuzad and then not give a damn about the empire he had just destroyed because it was irrelevant to his cause. Just an obstacle in his way.
That’s Sylvannas. Confident and goal-driven and doesn’t give a damn about anything else.

Jaina was super duper overly powerful in the fight for Lordaeron. This is a regular theme in Blizzard fights.

Sylvanas was not interested in killing everyone at the battle outside the Orgrimmar gates. Just Saurfang who needed to go.

I think a lot of people have missed the WoW panel and they explained where her additional strength has come from.

Considering that the game is the main avenue people interface with Warcraft, it is poor choice to lock away many key progress events for warcraft in books and one-time pay per view panels which a tiny fraction of the warcraft base will ever encounter.

This is from a writing/story driven perspective. People will be left with no idea of why things are as they are.

The WoW panel last night was free to view. They announced that at the opening Ceremony that they were allowing people to see everything until a time cut off.

There are also third party sites that update constantly on everything going on. Off the top of my head Wowhead, MMO Champion and Icy Veins are all making regular posts.

I do not think it’s unreasonable for this information to be released at BlizzCon. The whole point is to give us a taste of what is to come in their games.

Is this new? Why didn’t Arthas invade all Azeroth with his Scourge? Why didn’t Bolvar destroy the scourge by letting all undead kill each other and then kill the last one hinself. Why didn’t Deathwing burn all cities?

That’s just the game. And for game reasons stuff happens.

Also it was never established that Bolvar is powerfull.

I really don’t know why people expect him being so.

I have to admit I really just saw him as a babysitter to the Frozen Throne because someone had to sit there and wear the helm.

Exactly this. And if Blizz decided differently they just could have made him super duper powerfull. Because at this point they decided what route to go.

If Blizz said in the end of WotLK he is super powerful and impossible to defeat I would agree, Sylvanas probably shouldn’t have won. But at no time it was lore he is that way. So everything is fine in this regard.

I also don’t get why Bolvar has such a fan club.
