Just a quick little thread I’ll likely delete afterwards, but I figured if anyone was likely to read it, it was someone here on the forums.
My best friend’s little lady (aged 9) has seen me playing WoW and loves Sylvanas Windrunner to pieces at a glance of the BFA cinematics and Legion alike (who’d have thunk it?)
I’m curious to anyone who has read it if there’s anything in it that would be a no go. She’s a morbid little horror head that’s massively into vampires and banshees and frequently reads hamlet and nordic mythology, so she’s certainly used to a little killing and maiming in her reading material.
It has some pretty grim moments and themes, ranging between gaslighting, enslavement, deaths of children and other innocents. Not the most upbeat of the WoW novels available.
I obviously don’t know the girl in question and I don’t want to make Sylvanas out to be a horror story from beginning to end, far from it, but once the plot departs from Sylvanas backstory and into events spanning the most recent expansions, someone not playing WoW might be fairly lost in it.
You may as well buy her something better like The Vampire Genevieve or Matthias Thulmann: Witch Hunter from Warhammer because the Sylvanas novel is frankly trash.
